I need to clean the outside of my motor and was thinking about spraying it down with some brakleen, it takes oil and grime off really well on motors at work. Just wanted to ask before I go crazy with it. Could I also use it to clean other parts on my rig? Obviously staying away from electronics.

I don't know about the anno, but it's harsh on o-rings and definitely destroys lexan (ruined a body once on accident). I usually use soap and water with an old toothbrush on the outside of my engines (after sealing all holes first), then pat dry and hit it with compressed air.

My preferred weapon of mass cleaning is Simple green and a toothbrush. Rinse with clean water, dry with a rag and blow dry with compressed air.

K&N air filter cleaner works awesome. I stumbled on this by accident when I was using it to clean the filter after a rough day in the dirt. The dirt and grime nearly fell off and then I just blew the rest off with air.

i also use simplegreen. i get it for free so maybe thats why. but it works like a dream! takes all sorts of dirt off.

starting fluid might be cheper, and will not harm any plastic, use in well ventilated place. allso it might remove any oil on bearings.

This stuff works really well! Although it is more pricey than say simple green as mentioned earlier. It dissolves away dirt and grim on contact, add a toothbrush to the mix and there isn't anything you can't get clean!

brake kleen is fine as said keep away from plastic as for k&n cleaner nothing more than windex and starting fluid is either dont use for cleaner i use autozone brake cleaner cheaper

I'm with hamz, to the letter actually. And I use an all natural aluminum wheel cleaner for all the alloy bits to get any crud or oil residue off.
