I don't know what its called. A guy named Anthony Luciano asked me to sponsor a race in New York, R/CMTRA and I figured I'd be there.

Its in New Rochelle, Pelham Manor??

I have to be in New Jersey and Connecticut for those 2 weeks, so I may as well get out and see some action.

Where is Monster Jam??

Buffalo - a 9 hour drive away.......

We need to find someone who will be there OR you can just send them to ElPirata. I assure you, if anyone can break them, he can lol

Let us know

Do I have to move to Arizonia, or at least travel out there for the test? Believe if between Sky shooting videos and my running my normal routine of breaking anything and everything you'd be really amazed at how durable some things are not...

It sounds like El is the winner. I'll have to check around to see if there are any races in Virginia coming up. If not, I'll send you a set to test.

Man, especially on a set of rims designed for an off-road vehicle...i don't know... Wait untill you get some dirt and gravel in those things. Like said before, it just seems like something else to break. But, if you're all about the show truck aspect it could be for you. But then again most of the show trucks out there sport the beautifully machined aluminum wheels.

Alright, I'll go out and bash around in the dirt this weekend. There really isn't anything to get dirt in. The bearing is sealed, so that should take some abuse. Arizona dirt is known for its evasiveness, so that should test them pretty good. This is kind of not the right setting for a show truck, but I'd like to know how they'll do anyway.

We are coming out wiht a tank conversion soon, so testing the bearings will have to be done anyway in the silt and dirt out there.

He is refering to the tank treads he is coming out with.

Are they still $500-$700 for them? :dumb:

Yes, How much are they going to cost? Weeks ago you stated $500-$700. What is the price range now?

Still that much. I can't get anyone to run custom treads in small quantities. They all want $10K in tooling to make special molding dies. The treads we have found are not wide enough, so they look like a tank with a T-maxx body on it. I'm looking for a 3" wide tread, with chevrons on it. We tired the snowmobile belts, but they want $65 each for them as well. Then the bearings, machining, etc. The key is the belt.

You can get belts in the mens department of J.C. Pennies. Won't those work?

Any pictures of the prototype to get us consumers to start saving up?

Since there are so many people on this board that are "experts" in every area, I won't send any prototype drawings or samples. Too much negative bashing going on here.

If you see me at a show or something, I have the drawings in my bag. I show some people in person, if they are helping me look for tracks.

I may just go out and get an automotive timing belt supplier to make me samples. At least I can then get everything else finalized for the design.

RAMTech - dont take it wrong man. Some of the guys around here can be OVER critical. They dont mean any wrong. That I assure you.

I have seen someone who made the track conversion for the TMaxx a while back and it was cool as hell. Hard to steer, but cool as hell. They didnt use full tracks from the front to the back. Instead, they went with the design that you can currently buy for a 1:1 four wheeler. Great in snow etc...

I dont remember where I seen them, but the same guy who did those also did a ski conversion.

Yeah, I like people being critical when it makes a product better. That helps me and everyone else out to make a stronger product. But during the prototype stage, it can kill a project for the wrong reasons. That is why I'm here, to learn from you guys with years of experience doing the dirt-bashing.

The 4 track conversion is what I'm after. We figured a way to steer a little easier at full speed. But that tread is the only thing keeping us from production.

It’s real easy to tell someone how great their idea is. We could sit here and blow smoke up your ass all day long. In the long run, what good will that do you?

When I come up with a business plan or product, I don’t want to know what right about it, I want as much negative feedback as possible. It’s only then will you see your product through the eyes of the real users. When we see a product, we know what’s right about it, most of the time that’s what caught our attention. As we look into it more we start to see it flaws and weaknesses and this is where you will benefit the most.

You asked for experience, you got it. If you are looking for nothing but an up and down headshake to make yourself feel good, you’re in the wrong place. You will be ahead of most inventers if 1 of every 50 ideas you have actually gets past the drawing board and 1 of 50 that gets that far go to prototype. If 1 of 50 gets past beta to production your better off than most.

Anyone with a CNC can pound out wheels and chassis, kudos go out to you and others that are trying to do something different.

I respect those who try.
I have said this many times in real life and on this forum,

"Their betters to try and fail than to never have tried at all."

Keep up the hard work and use our critical comments as a positive tool.

OK, I'm with you guys. Give me the feedback, and I'll try to make sense of it. I started thinking about the regular items, but that didn't interest me. I'm not a "me too" kind of person, and neither are any of my engineers.

I'll have to start this thread on another title, I would really like to run some ideas past you guys for some new ideas.

Thanks, Rob
