Ok I want to know what the biggest mill I can put into my NTC3 with no major mods! What are the pros and cons? Let me know!!

Probably an .18. But it ain't gonna be legal. And there's a lot better .12 size race engines that could beat a .18

Ok hasn't the 21 buin placed in one before? I thought that a 26 was able to go into the chassis. Has anyone else tried to actually put something like this? Please I wan to try this out if it CAN be done.

I've heard of .21's put into tc3's. But it'd take a lot of different parts. At the minimum an adjustable motor mount

The space in an NTC3 is at a premium. Just as Kwong said, there are smaller mills out there that will out perform 18's. With the bigger mills, you would go faster, straight line, but the trade off would pretty much be in the way it handles. I would suggest looking for an engine that would allow you to get out of a turn and on the throttle with more smoothness. Just as in regular 1:1 cars, smoother is faster and the fine line between speed and handling doesn't all rely on the hp/torque of an engine.

I run an OS .15 CV-R in my NTC3. Also ran a .12 CV-RX. The .15 is deffinitely faster, but the .12 was a lot smoother. I'm still on the learning curve with this new mill since the handling characteristics are a bit different now. Kinda nice going into a powerslide while pushing 3/4 throttle.

No I was just curiuos to see if it was worth the try. I am still sticking to my MT12 and maybe a new mill soon!!.Thanks for the input!

jon2 - i am picking up my Rody V12 this friday - supposed to be the most powerful small block on the planet - i will let u know how it does this weekend, maybe u might get one of those. be prepared to hand over ur entire wallet though

NA how much are we talking about? should I just sell my mills for this one? What is expected from this mill ...from what the manufacturer says?

Ok thatis pricey!!! Please let me know how it runs in the NTC3. Wait a minute are you putting it into your NTC3? Cool you got it for that much off.

the epic 18 is a bored stroked 12, so it will fit. and it has high rpm. I'm going to test one out soon.

NA How could you sell a great car? Well let me know how the belt drive works out. I found a cx12, a v12 and an X12 on ebay. Each going for about 160 to start.

Supernitro17 Man I need to see this go. Post up some vids if you can! Thanks for the input

Jon2 - I ended up passing the level of that car. I needed something to grow into, and the NTC3 wasn't it.

Dont get the CX12, its very outdated. The X12 and V12 are both about the same, just the V12 being the newer model. It will pull the X12 on the straights. BIG difference between the X12/V12 and the Rody though.

ill get some video. i plan on putting an epic 18 in my ss and a fantom 18 in my supernitro, then I'm going to race them head to head and see which is faster straight line, my money says the ss just because of the lower weight , although the fantom turns higher rpm and has more claimed hp. we'll see, either way , its all fun

I thought you were looking do do this with no major mod's.
Putting a huge motor in a little car = major mod's

Jon2 - i have now fully broken in the RODY V12 qand tuned it in at the local track. This engine is without a doubt the most amazing mill i have ever seen. The power curve is mind blowing. It revs so high, that the cat is travelling at a higher speed in 1st gear, than my CV-R was in second gear. I would say it is well more than TWICE as fast as the CV-R. The powerband is consistant all the way through the throttle. it idles perfect, and to this date, after about 12 tanks of fuel, it hasnt stalled once - even during break in. runs very very cool - max temp recorded to date was 241, with avg temps hovering around 215 once tuned properly. I have been told that the power doesn't even start to realy show through until after the first gallon. i would recommend this engine to anyone who is an experienced RC driver, and has excellent tuning skills. i would not, however, recommend this engine for a beginner
