Your biggest problem is what can the drive line and transmission handle not what you can shoe horn in to it....... try the picco Maxx .26. Still fits in a small block area.
The big question is WHY? Of course you could answer, "because I want to" but once you go bigger than the OS18 or the TRX 3.3 it will be a complete waste of time and money because it will be undriveable in the Rustler chassis.
My suggestion is the OS or the TRX, with a maximum of a Sirio .21 or RB 323, if you can get one....
Either way two weeks later I can see you posting how bad the Rustler is cause it breaks everytime you take it out.....
Generally a big engine like that doesn't rev high, they are just torque monsters. So gearing it high may just kill performance because it won't go that fast or rev high, and can't use its torque because it is geared so high. you know what i'm saying? I think you would be better off getting a small super high reving engine and make that rusty go superfast, even geared low. Thats what I would do.
I've been told i could get it up to 60mph with stock engine all it coast me is20$ but really
the thaing about rusty is once you reach 45 and hit a small bump it just flips over i want a bigger engine so it can go up hills better without having to full throttle
well if your talking about dirt hills...it all depends on how much weight or what kind of tires you have...when i climb a sand dune(sand hill) ill have to wot it so the tires wont dig in.. if i dont the car will get stuck no matter what i do...other big hills like dirt if you go up lets say 1/4 throttle it wont reach the end because it doesn't have enough momentum and if it goes backwards and you wot it the tires will spin and it wont climb...i know cause whenever we go camping in the desert i take my hyper 8 with me a climb dunes as high as 100 meters! it takes 5-6 tries to reach but if you have enough speed and the right tires(paddle) you will go up with no problems
i have a steep yard and i like to go up it with out gunning it so much and a 32 engine should be able to do it. my dad just bought gs 18 truggy that thaing moves not much high rpms but it will move it has the same or more power as the ofna lx1 also if i put the engine in the rusty ill prob have to get a metal trany and metal rear end
I stuck a collari .32 in my rc10gt. I would say a little too much torque. If i drive it in loose dirt/gravel i use paddles. That says a lot right there. Forget jumping, cause you throw the whole balance off.
