Hehe your the first person to catch on what my SN means. Its an 89 Daytona Shelby T2 under complete restoration at the moment. I did have HUGE plans for it around 10k just in the motor/trans. but due to some financial problems at the moment (like R/C cars lol) i had to cut the budget some. As it's going back together it will have just a stock shortblock, ported swirl head, ported exhaust manifold, and am unsure of the turbo at the moment probably just throw the stock garret back in. I do happen to have the godly suspension most of the way done 1) Ground Control Coilovers with koni shocks and suspension specialists springs up front.
2)Adjustable rear spring perches with Eibach springs from Mark Grant.
3)strut tower bar by Mark Grant.
4) rear panhard rod by Mark Grant.

I am currently working on the body I stripped all paint off and fixing the body, I also shaved the door handles and I will be painting it with a special effects blue. You can see pictures of it along with a show truck that I painted and shaved out. http://www.freewebs.com/daytonashelby/ Most of the current pictures are in photo gallery 3. Been through 9 5speed manuals between the 3 cars,I'm not even gonna try to count up the cv joint axles!

No i havent owned anything besides the newer 87+ cars. The trannys and the blocks suck in the early cars. The nine trannys are they all A-525's? Those things are terrible trannys. You should get the newer 520,555,523, or 568 they should last you awhile longer :)

i personally think your not gunna be totally happy with the finalproject. i think your speed addiction is gunna wear off once you crash it once (likely)

I have been doing the same thing to my rs4. Making it faster and crashing it. I enjoy it, but my wallet doesn't.

Yeah well I have a 1.8 liter inline 4 with an AEM cold air intake...

I got a fully built gsr bored to a 2liter making 700+ hp to the wheels. Runs 10.20 @ 140mph.

just thought Id share.

Uh huh, and I have a 1000hp 10 second MKIV supra and I only pay $10 a month on insurance.

No really. I work at a race shop in northern ca. The car I mentioned is the shop race car. We have several other 10 sec honda drag cars aswell.

Noop- I am raising the BS flag on you. You are going to need a hell of a lot more then a 2 liter overbore lol. So is this 700hp b18 N/A as well lol? I know of only a handfull of hondas in the 10's. You sound like you watched Fast and the Furious one to many times.......

Oh, well if it's an all out drag car, yeah I can see 10 seconds...but not a street car, no way...maybe high 11's low 12's

Actually, if you follow the pro drag scene, they do have cars that get into the 10's pretty consistently and they DO make a good 600-700hp

We have a street crx that runs 12.1 all motor. Hopefully will be doing 11s in a few weeks. We also have 2 street projects to run all motor 10s.

The 2 liter is equiped with a t3/t4 turbo, pwr air to water cooler, speed pro. It is back halfed which was done by MB products. We also have 3 other 10 sec hondas. 2 are turbo and the other is all motor.

I know this probably sounds like a lot of BS, but you can call me at the shop if you really like. I dont think it will prove much. Or you can try looking us up. The name of the shop is DNR performance. Our number is 510-783-5200. Our shop is in N.Cal Hayward.

I do follow it somewhat, but he does not state what is done just that it is a overbored b18.......What else do you have done to this motor to make 700hp?

Damn fast reply lol

t3/t4 turbo, tial waste gate, custom manifold, pwr air to water cooler, type-r cams, skunk springs and retainers, victory x intake manifold, 70 str t/b, speed pro engine management, custom axles, spool drive, ummmmmmmmm 15in bogarts.....i dunno what else I can mention. 100 shot direct port kit, but it hasnt been used yet.

crower rods, je pistons, and the block was sleeved by golden eagle which has been giving us problems. We have a new RS block going in it soon.

I was going to ask you if that was streetlegal but after I looked at the links to your cars, i got my answer. I'm not into the "tuner" scene but as I've said in the past, I can really appreciate good engineering and design. Very nice work.

there are two hatchbacks in the pics
one is sohc turbo 11.4 i believe

calling out the BS flag. t3/t4 flowing enough for a 700hp motor, nope sorry, gimme trim specs. 700hp only making a low 10 pass, again nope unless the driver can't do his job. we have plenty of dubs out here on the east coast that run 9's on 550whp-650whp. at 700 in a light honda, that car should see mid 9's. too much inconsistant info pal. your specs dont add up to the claims.

Ill get the info to you. I'm not the turbo guy.

I completely agree. The car should be in the 9s. Unfortunately its not. We have only taken the car to two events so far. Both times, we broke the axles. If you know hondas, you should understand that problem. Hopefully by june(The next even the car will be at, we will have the upgraded axles ready to go) The 10.20 pass was at our local track which did not prep the track properly. We didnt brake only cuz there wasn't enough VHT on the track, but it turned out to be a poopy 60ft.

at 700 in a light honda, that car should see mid 9's.

Its not as light as you think. I believe the car is at 2000 with driver. Not a very light back-halfed honda. The chassi was built a few years ago when NHRA kept throwing weights, along with other rules back and forth. And at that time, the car had to weigh this much.
