Best repair glue for bulkheads

If I’ve got enough money left I might, but even just one will be better than none, that glue is iirc around 8 quid delivered to me lol
It's awesome glue. But even with that, those ears are going to need some bracing. Just make sure you keep the cap on that glue tight. If you leave it off, it would probably be an empty bottle overnight. It evaporates that fast.

I’ll remember that mate, and I’ll see what can be done re: bracing, all in good time bud, thanks for the advice too!!!

@WickedFog just a quick one bud, have you heard of araldite and if so, do you think it would bond this bulkhead well enough until I get a new casing?
Or should I just wait til payday for the ema stuff- also would the previous dried superglue at the fail points affect this stuff working?

Never heard of that one. I think the EMA will melt right through that superglue.

@WickedFog so I ordered some EMA today, along with a few other glues as I bought a model rocket kit the other day too (couldn’t help myself lol ) so hopefully I’ll be burning some more nitro soon!!
If it even holds. I would grab some .040" styrene and make a sheet to glue over the whole face of that as well. And get some sprue material and fill in any cracks really good. Even then, that is such a high stress area, it may not hold.

I’ll see if I can get some styrene not sure I’ll have any of it just laid around, anything else to glue to it once/if it’s set?
And what is sprue material mate?
Tbf the two pieces on the edge of the bulk are held from underneath by screws so they won’t go anywhere once it’s fitted, and I don’t go jumping or anything so as Long as I don’t crash into anything it could be ok lol 😂

Sprue material is the plastic structures left over from model kits. You can use the excess styrene instead. Just get some Acetone or nail polish remover and pour onto some bits of styrene to melt it into a slurry. Local hobby stores or craft supply stores should carry styrene.

There are vids on YT on how to make a plastic slurry.

I see mate, you can tell I’m new to all this stuff haha I’m off to the model shop tomorrow to buy some bits so I’ll ask there, thanks for the information it’s good to learn something new!

Any time man. I hope it works for you. Don't breathe that EMA glue 😉

So jealous! Wish we could buy that stuff over here.
Did you check to see if it was banned? Tbf, in the warning on the side it does say “Suspected to cause cancer” lol 😂
I also don’t think it’s working on this bulkhead as it doesn’t melt it or give any kind of good bond, wondering if it’s the type of plastic they’ve used as it almost seems like a fibreglass type of plastic (if that makes sense)

Are you using multiple coats? I put it on with a brush, and keep going til I feel the brush starting to get stuck a bit. If that stuff won't melt it, I don't know what will. You could try nail polish remover. If not, sorry bud. That's the best guesses I have.

Yes bud, it was running into the crack and I had it held with some grips so kept running some down the spots it needed gluing. It didn’t even seem to soften it or bother it in the slightest, maybe it was the previous super glue that is stopping it or even possibly ingrained grease or oil from however long it’s been broken.
Not to worry bud it was worth a try, and I’m sure I’ll find a use for the plastic glue anyway haha 😂
Suppose it’s just order a new one from Felix Hobby’s now haha 😂
