I've run several different RTR out of the box crawlers. I want to build a custom crawler for competition. I'm looking for your opinion on what is the best Axle setup, motor and ESC and transmission. This will be a 4s, with 1.9/ 4.75 tires, comp only crawler... so light weight and compact will be needed as well. Thanks for any input.

I am currently building an SCX10 Pro kit and the quality is pretty good. It honestly seems like the best bang for your buck would be the Vanquish VRD carbon. If you are wanting to go actual piece-everything-together custom then i can offer no advice.

That why I'm here as well, kits are nice but i wanted to look at actually piece by piece put something together, light weight overdrive trans, stubby motor still up in the air on if portals are best or not. just looking to for advise. the Nessie C2 is a nice setup and the class 3 is even better but i think I'm gonna stay with class 2 as thats what all my friends are in and it would be nice to be able to beat on them
