Alright, I'm sure this questions is asked millions of times and there's hundreds of threads, but there's an a$$ for every seat. So on that note, I'm new to RC and have 2 savages. I really want to get into the buggy scene now so I bought an OFNA 9.5 RIP with the .26. I haven't taken it out of the box yet since i'm not sure if it's really what I want (impromtive purchase.)

I'm sure there's always a better buggy, but i'm looking for something that fits me. I do my bashing with my savages, and only want to do a little with the buggy. I do want to attempt my hand at racing it, but not sure if that's what I want either. The stores that I frequent for parts and goodies specialize in OFNA stuff, so I"m comfortable with that line of cars. I'm just very on the fence with the 7.0 PBS and the 9.5 that I have here in the bag/box.

If you have some insight, I'd appreciate it.

TIA,

TX

Here is my 2 cents the 9.6 is a fairley good bashing buggy if your just starting out.and doing lite bashing.the a arms are not the best and break very easy.the c hud front end is in one word poop.and if your looking to race the 9.5s mill is not leagle for racing..

Now if your looking for the best ofna buggy kit or rtr
1st the ofna pcr pro kit...
2nd the ofna pcr rtr
3rd the ofna pbs rtr

these 3 rides come out of the box ready to race..well not the pcr pro you will need to add your own mill..i whould suggest the rb concepts ws711..this is the mill iam running in my pcr all most pro lol afew more parts and its there.
I'am a very hard core basher and with only a few bad wreaks. This prc is un stoppable.wicked quick and durabilty is there.

OH and I will suggest the piviot ball suspention over the c hub any day

I'm not an ofna fan at all but have to admit the hyper 7 pcr/pbs/rtr is a great buggy and is very competitive with a good driver. I've had one harrassing my mbx-5 and i would hate to think what the guy could do with a pro kit, but like they say- driving is most of what makes a buggy good. go see if you can swap out what ya got for one of these. they are pretty good and race legal.

Yes, just about anyone on these forums along w/ me will agree that the hyper PBS is one of the best buggies out there.

the 9.5 can run at the track anytime, the 9.5 pro should come with c-hub and a pbs kit as well, the 9.5 mbx is an awesome buggy as well, some local tracks will allowed .26 engines, chk with them 1st, but then again yes H7 is better. my :2cents:

The only thing if you plan on racing, well....either way your going to have to change the steering servo on the pcr/pbs but besides that the buggy is pretty much bullet proof! I've been beating the crap out of an mbx4/rb c5 for a few months now and I've got the guy pretty discuraged because i have a 450 rtr and he has all kinds of money in his. Great ride for the $$

Yes, you will need the new steering servo for the ofna buggies as well, that'll set you back about $40.

Called my local hobby store today to check on the PCR PRO kit that you suggested as #1 and they said they have none. The reason they did not reorder was due to the fact that a new one was due in 6-8 weeks. Can anyone confirm an upgrade due shortly? If this is true, i'll wait the couple of months.

TIA

TX

look at the x-terminator...a number of us on these forums have them and all agree that they kick butt. durable and they come with an awesome engine. having said that, the hyper buggies are also really nice from what i've heard, and the new mayhem deserves a look. there's many good choices out there.

Yup, take a look at the X-Terminator. Very good buggies, but I have also herad a lot of people who love PCR's.
