SUCK I went through like 3 battries in 2 days man and I thought gas was expensive lol any one here used a battrey glow starter? if so how long cuz I need to change mine

I use a battery and glo-ignitor that looks like this:

A little clunky, but it has yet to die and works great.

holy cow lol how big is that? thats cool that it never dies out but kinda wierd you gotta carry a big battery every where u go

Not really. I keep it near my field kit, and that is where it stays. I carry a small C-cell glo-ignitor in my pocket in the case that the RC dies somewhere in the middle of a run. So far, this has served me well.

I use the Dynamite Glow Stick with rechargeable Sub C batteries. 1 will usually get me through the day and I keep 2 more charged up in reserve.

You can't go wrong with the unit shown above but for me I like to keep the stick in my back pocket. Its more convenient when you have to run out to you RC. I hate carrying it back to the pits just to re-start it.

Its all a matter of preference.

I use the same block type 1.5 v battery and the small convenient rechargeable c cell ignitor. I have found the block type is far more reliable than the standard c-cell type. Furthermore those ignitors that use the DRY cell type like alkalines....SUCK!!! They don't heat light up the glow plug as hot as my other two methods. I recommend the block type and the rechargeable type c cell and that's the bottom line cuz big John says so..!!

you guys who are running the block 1.5v battery for glow ignition; can you use any lantern type battery or does it have to be the 1.5v Hobbico? What I mean is can you use the 6v batteries from duracel/energizer...etc, or will it over power the glow plug and kill the element?
