The cap or base should unscrew. Charge the new bat overnight for its first charge.

Well, not sure on that one. If it doesn't unscrew, you can get one at Tower Hobby for $8.

Try taking the connector for the glow plug apart and cleaning it. That worked for me when i thought that i had a dead battery.
