Battery plugs

my Dromida's use that same plug. it has a name but i can't remember it off the top of my head.
i found these several years ago, but can't remember where i got them...

Hpi says it’s called a micro plug. All I could find.

I can only see the red part of the plug so I may be wrong but it looks like a jst plug.

Pretty sure that's a molex plug.

i thought Molex was a manufacture? we used to call "Tamiya Plugs" Molex plugs.

I have a USB charging block. I have at least 6 different types of plugs on that thing. Convenient, especially when traveling, but fugly. From micro USB to proprietary Garmin and everything in between.

I guess I should have specified hardwired polarized connectors. I have accidentally plugged terminals into the wrong sockets in a battery before.

I did that with my castle mamba max pro and killed a battery, still using that ESC in my rustler.

I use XT90 on my 1:10 and 1:18 stuff and XT60 on my smaller stuff.

IC5, they're easy to solder and are EC5 compatible. I run them on all my trucks from 3s to 6s.

I have a couple Spectrum "Smart" batteries w/IC-5, so I use EC-5 connectors on ESC/other battery terminals. Use PowerPoles for Ham radio. Used to run those orange "Race Prep" connectors on my Optima in the late 80s?... Yes, I'm old.

I've learned a couple "tricks" about soldering EC-5s. Lots of liquid flux and a hot iron (I really, really, like my HakkoUSA FX-951 w/chisel tip at 750F). When you cut your cable, dab some liquid flux on the end and "tin"/solder the end of the cable before you strip the insulation, so you don't have any stray fibers. "Tin" some more after stripping, use liquid flux in the socket and add more solder until it flows around the whole socket. Nothing worse than a solder joint failing during a race!...
