I had this idea in my head for a while when I was struggling to make the T6.4 work at Pit Stop, then I saw someone do it on the RC10Talk FB page. My trusty RB10 is getting converted again. It actually started life as a DR10 but I got bored with that really quickly. I converted to the RB10 and it worked pretty well. After I picked up the Losi 22 2.0 it was sitting so instead of selling it I’m going to put some SC10 Pro2 arms turnbuckles and CVA shafts on the short RB chassis and I got a JConcepts RC10T F150 body. All the part numbers are in the picture below ⬇️ f you’re interested in doing one yourself.

The chassis itself is in solid shape and I did a few upgrades to it already. Mostly to the steering. It’s got an Exotek rack and servo mount and the Protek servo that came free with my B7 kit.

I’m going to run these blue carvers and green goosebumps for now. I also have some green sprinters around but they’re pretty haggard. I wasn’t really happy with the goosebumps but I don’t know if that was tire or chassis related.

I have truck towers already from the original DR10 and some body mount options. Also an assortment of potential shocks. The DR shocks and a pretty nice set of ProLine Power Stroke bladder shocks from my Slash. I’m hoping the ProLines will work out because they’re much nicer than the kit shocks. I’m probably going to run the DR bumper too.

The body will get my purple/blue fade paint job but I want to detail the “rollbar” and black out the negative space around it so it actually looks like a truck. Not my forté but we’ll see how it goes.

I have pretty much everything I need to get started. Maybe I’ll get to it this weekend. I’m hoping to race at First State for the first time on Saturday and get the B7 out for its first full race day so maybe Sunday.

Got to spend a little time on this this afternoon. I got the front end assembled. There’s still some work to do but it looks like I’ll be able to use the nice proline shocks. They slipped right into the slots in the arms and, the fronts at least, are close enough in length that a few internal shims to limit droop the should be good to go. They’re definitely going to need to be rebuilt. The springs are way too stiff and there’s 50wt oil in them I think. I’m also going to need to mod the upper mount bushings a bit but nothing crazy. I need to turn the “bulge” off of them on the lathe at work. Otherwise they fit well.

I messed with body mounts a bit too the rear is gonna be no problem but I’m gonna need to do some fiddling in the front to get them to land where I want. I have some shims, I’m going to try to push them forward 5mm that remains to be seen. Just a ROUGH trim on the body but I’m either going to need to notch the “grille” to clear the bumper support, or remove the bumper support and see how long it lasts, or just go with the little buggy “bumper.” I really don’t want to notch the grille if I don’t have to.

It’s off to a good start though! Happy with how it’s working out.
