backyard bashing

I was thinking of getting a nitro, but you need a huge place to really let it go all out, so I am trying to find something that is not super fast, that would fit in a small yard, have decent ground clearance, and not cost a fortune. Was at wally world and it was either too big, or too small. I am looking for a 1/12 scale off road electric that has all of the above that might be available locally at a toy store.

Theres alot of cars out there that are pretty cool for back yard bashing, espically if you have a smaller yard, or even just a little on the big side. Team losi makes a bunch of really cool mini trucks now. The mini lst is pretty sweet for a smaller yard. Or if you have a little bigger yard, you could look into the E-savage, or E-maxx. Hope this helps a little.

The last thing you want is something from Radio Shack or Wally world. They are just rinky dink toys, and you'll tire of them very quickly. Wait till you get some more suggestions here and then check out each one on the net before you decide.

I agree with Rolex. Stay away from toy store r/c's. Not worth the box the come in.

what type of surface is your backyard. thick grass, sparse grass, dirt? You dont' want something too small or it'll have trouble getting through thick and tall grass.

Traxxas and Losi would be a good choice to go with. I believe Koyosho and Tamia have some great onces also.

I like my E-Rustler its 1/10th scale made bt Traxxas.

I feel the same way. I can't run my Truggy since area's right now are either under construction or my time is limited since my boys take the most of it.

I recommend a 1/18th scale. I have an 18B that I am getting more into hope to get another since my boy really likes it. I hope to get another 18B or 18T and set them up with brushless and lipos. I can make collapsable ramps I an take with me and race at an open field or even in a parking lot.

Yup I would say good call.....I have played with a couple...they can be good fun.

I have never heard of the toy store Wally World, just in that movie. At least I assume it is a toy store. :juggle:

Avoid the cars and trucks at Buy-Me Toys! An RC-16 is cheap and has plenty of after-market parts available. They are great for small areas although I can't recommend using a bl setup indoors. lol

The only time I would say a store brought RC would be good is for youngins to see if they get into the hobby. To spend a lot of money on one and then they lose interest is just a waste. Nitro would be my first choice but electric is easier to run than nitro when looking for places to run.
