Nice work Mel! I really like those last two. I like the darker colors. Although, the one that started this thread really popped.

Maybe try to put them on a mirror when you photo them. Might be a cool effect.

Mel, do you use a siphon feed or gravity feed brush? I think I'm gonna pick up a gravity feed here pretty soon. I just don't feel I can spray light and consistant with a siphon feed... too much pressure and air flow seems to make the spray inconsistant.

Lessen.. gravity feed. I can't really say what i spray at seeing i use the air lines from my work ( work in a body shop) wal says 120psi but i have a valve on the end of my air hose with no gauge i just play it by ear .. ( same thing i do when painting 1:1 cars)
If i had to guess i would say around 20-40 psi .. different psi for diffenet effects. drop shadows i say around 10-15psi detail work around 20-30psi and if there is a bigger area i would have to say 30-40psi
Plus it depends on the day .. hot days the paint drys to quick so i would spray at a lower psi and cold days a bit higher but fast strokes and a longer flash time

yeah, I'm not able to get consistant soft shadows at 10-15 psi. It'll be good a minute then it starts to get spattery and Ihave to remove the tip and wipe off the end of the needle.. play with it a bit to get it clean before I start again.. it's a pain in the ass and I've come to the conclusion that it's due to the ratio of paint:air. I'm trying to use so little paint when I do shadowing that the air [even at low pressure] just begins to dry the paint on the tip of the needle.. thus causing spatter. I know that gravity feeds require less pressure so I've been thinking of getting one. Badger now has a model that can be used as BOTH gravity and siphon feed. They also just came out with a super high end gravity feed brush.. it's real pretty to look at but the $300 price tag isn't. ouch.

pactra i cut 2:1 one bottle of paint to a half bottle of thinner..for shading and streaks i cut it 1:1full bottle of thinner to full bottle of paint
spazstix .. right from the bottle

That's almost exactly what I've been doing to. Well, at least I'm doing something right Defintly can't wait to try a gravity feed though.
