i currently have a axial scorpion its the rtr version all stock, I'm needing to know what gearing i could use to slow it down i want crawlin speeds which may be a lil faster than walking and electronics i recently purchased a novak v-10
65T crawler motor and need to know what kinda electroincs to put on it to make it better, I'm stuck on it and dont know much about rc's so any help could be useful . thanks Jon

I'm looking for torque and lots of it but i dont wonna be wide open throttle for high torque if this makes any sense.

its a 20 tooth pinion pinion and a 87 spur gear

Overall gear ratio range from 15:1 to 74:1
Transmission: 2.6:1;

motor is the stock axial 27t

ill say about 6 mph is top speed but thats kindsa fast for a crawler it wouldnt be so bad thou if like when ur barely giving it throttle and it crawls good but its kinda weak at low throttle response! i got a pti goilath set up with all novak electronics with a integy 55t motor its very very strong but it has plastic gears in it and i mean to tell you i rip them out all the time

and bout the motor i said i have its not a novak my mistake its a integy v-10 60s motor lol.

u still want to have some wheel speed when crawler to help u get up rocks

just get yourself a 12t pinion and that will help. if you are still running the rtr esc thats not helping you out to much, they are hard to control at low speeds. save up for a sidewinder or a mamba and it will be like day and night difference.

where would i get the electronics like that at? i hate to keep asking questions but I'm new to all of this so i need all the help i can get lol.

come this friday if he still has it I'm getting it friday , but I'm gonna wait til then to ask him bout it. but thank you , you guys are nice on this site I'm loving this site lol.

just getting a new esc, like the sidewinder or mm and a different pinion will dramatically change it for the better, it will be so much easier to drive while your crawling...

rpphobbies.com for your crawler needs

also if u havent done it yet lock the front diff with the locker that came with the rtr

and also mount everything as low as u can (like the battery, esc,rx etc)

pick up a better set of tires and its night and day

that should get u off to a good start

check out abadk's build thread he went from stock to comp and thats some good pointers in there

man , thank you guys so much I'm love with crawlers i dont wont nothing else but a crawler and yall have been extra nic with the help and i really really do thank ya'll guys alot i really mean that! as soon as possible I'm redoing the stock electronics and pinion along with the motor and plus i order some proline2.2 beadlock rims which they came with tires but the tires look like they sucks so I'm thinking bout going with some rc4wd tires of some sort

u can leave the motor, pinion all stock and just get a better esc, like the sidewinder or even a novak sport and you will love the difference just with that.
