2 questions real quick.

1) How do you pro-bashers have your tune setup? Rich? Power Tuned? Insane 2 block wheelies? And if possible include why you like it tuned that way.

2) My Savy 25 has a 2 piece pipe and it's LOUD! Any good suggestions for a quieter pipe on a OS MAX .30VG(p)-x? I live in an apartment complex and dont really want to piss the neighbors off too much, plus the resonance between buildings is just straight insane!

Thanks everyone.

i run a big spur with a little cb on mine and run em alittle rich. but mine rarly see asphalt, i also run the ribbed single chamber hpi pipe, you think yours is loud? i like my rcs' loud. not an issue for me.

you think yours is loud?

compared to to my GT2 with a AE 15-x, this thing sounds like it doesn't have a pipe! Then again, we're talking twice the size between mills. Maybe I just need to get used to it...

1) As with any vehicle that gets bashed, tuning it just a touch rich is always a good idea for longevity of the engine and glow plugs.

2) What pipe do you have? Composite, ribbed aluminum or polished aluminum? The HPI ribbed is the loudest, composite is the next loudest. I run the polished one on my aftershock. Adding an exhaust deflector will take some of the sharpness out of most (if not all) pipes. I run an extender. It does two things, gets the oil residue further away from the chassis and dampens the exhaust note a bit.

I recently tried a RDLogics pipe and it was half the noise of the HPI polished pipe I run, but it really hampered my power output with an LRP28S3 engine. I can't imagine it would do an OS30 any favors. But if quiet is what your looking for, it really is quiet comparatively. I got it for $10 off a buddy of mine since it came with his savage. It's setup for a left side pipe, not a right side pipe like the savage he bought on ebay. I believe they make one for the savage though. I modified mine a bit so I could use the stock header on my aftershock, which connects the same way as yours probably does on the savage, with a silicone coupler.

Good, then I'm on track then. I'm actually a little too rich right now (190-200 degree's) but then again, I'm breaking in new fuel.

I currently have the 2 piece composite. I dont want to loose any performance since I'm happy with the way it is, just maybe baffle the noise a bit. I started it up the first time on my back porch that is somewhat enclosed and damn near jumped out of my skin when it fired. First from shock it fired on the first pull and second from the noise and reverb. Lets just say ALL the neighbors now know there's a new rig in town, lol.

As far as performance, right now being a tad too rich, it nearly pulls the front wheels off the ground if I hold 1/4 throttle and then punch it. Any suggestions of a good wheelie bar? Maybe i can get Rolex to sell me that nifty one he's got on his Savy? :hehe:

Thanks guys.

The HPI wheelie bar is the most durable one. The stock plastic pipe is aboout as quiet as it gets. It is a BB engine after all.
Keep the temps under 240 on that engine. The cylinder is nickle plated not chromed like most. It can't take the heat like an engine with a chromed sleeve can.
