A friend of mine pulled his rc10L out from the dead and the motor was locked up. He needs a new motor, but wants to compete with my ntc3. anybody have any suggestions on a motor?? If it means anything its got all futuba controllers. The receiver is model#FP R112 JE and the speed control is # MC 210 CB. Thanks for all the help!!!!

I would first make sure what can this ESC handle, down to how many turns?

With this info you can decide on a motor.Up to $60 you can buy very high quality motors as long as the ESC can handle them.

Even with a stock motor, the old 10L was lightening-quick. I'd be concerned with that futaba ESC. The last one Futaba made was only good with a stock motor. You'll probably want to upgrade that ESC to something made by novak to get a 19 turn in there.

Otherwise, have a blast with it, those 10Ls are rockets.

Ok another question. Where can I locate a RC10L wide body at?? They are hard to find

Measure the outside edges of the front wheels in millimeters, from side-to-side (width of car). I don't remember if it was a 290 or a 300.

Yeah pro-line's got lots of bodies that will fit it.

You'll most likely get smoked by a Tc3 UNLESS you're on carpet or going for a loooong drag race. :D The pan cars are so light that the "getting going" part is often the most difficult, lots of nervous spinning out goes on and even at full speed the slightest twitch will case the rear wheels to bust loose.

A stock motor is all you really need with these things, a mod motor is just overkill and there's nothing you can do with the extra power except sit and spin. :D But if you run it on carpet where they can actualy get some traction, that's a whole different deal. :D

I don't know how it stands these days but when I used to run my RC10 back in the day I ran it with an 8.4v battery instead of the 7.2V. That combined with the Kyosho 480 Gold motor made it run real nice. And yes, I said Kyosho 480 Gold, anyone remember that? I still have the RC10 sitting in that exact form today in mint condition. Man, I gotta charge up that battery and take it for spin, I haven't ran it in years.
