definately run the rear lighter than the front.......I tried the 5-5-5 thing in an Xray saturday and it sucked....someone visiting the area said he sees alot of guys run that in fort meyers and they love it.....I dunno sounds hokey to me and it felt even worse....

funny you say that plaidfish, I'm about to tear my xb8 down for some new fluid, and was going to try 5-5-5. ill let you know what i think of it.

Aha. I am new to 4wd too, I was wondering why my 9.5 Pro balded out a set of front tires in two runs, while the rears still look fresh. Makes sense now I think. So if the center diff fluid is too thin, it will put most of the drive to the front wheels, because those are easier to spin under acceleration, right?

Did you put fluid in or just leave it the way it comes RTR? if it's RTR then you have grease in your diffs not Oil.......grease will have you slippin and slidin all over the place.....

man I don't know if I should feel lucky or pissed, I never get to drive mine long enough to get knots...LOL...something usually breaks before that happens.....I get knots from wrenching in the pit too much......I guess I should learn more better at not beating the crap out of my stuff....and people wonder why I don't race yet.....It's not racing unless your driving more than wrenching.....
Plaid I spend more time wrenching than driving as well, but not cause its broken just because, to clan you have to pull the damn buggy to bits to do it properly

I'm not sure what was in my center diff... all the gears teeth appeared to be almost dry and there was this silver sludge in all the corners of the diff cup. Might have been grease.

I put 50K in the center and didn't get any further. All I have on hand is 50K, 7K and 3K. I might pull the front and rear diffs out and throw some 7K in the front and some 3K in the rear. I'll be curious to see how the 50k in the center reacts.

BTW, I just ordered/received 2 full sets of wheels/rims from acehobbies. They were selling them for 9.95 a pair with tires mounted.

Now I need to find another set of rims and some street tires for my skatepark sessions. Anyone use these: Duratrax 1/8 Buggy street or these: Pro-Line RoadRage?

The prolines come with foams, the duratrax don't.

Also just found these: OFNA Mounted Street

here ya go olds

premounted onroad tires for buggies

personally i would go with the premounted foams, remember about 1 grade harder in the front than rear is the general rule for foams. you can also get the ofna onroad premounts there, at a cheaper rate than tower.

are u going to race it like that corrado, ot you just playing around to find out what it does

I'm going to race it. this is what the wheelers are using and seem to like it a lot.

I tried running the heavy stuff once, 50-70-30. It was uncontrollable on the track. I ended up going back to what worked best for me, 5-7-3.
