the battery is fine, the motor is fine, but the ESC is not taking power through the IC5 battery connecter. I ran the ESC through the receiver port on my Spektrum smart checker then it worked. Do I need a new ESC or is it just a fix?

So it works if you run it through a checker, but not through the receiver? Is your throttle trim set to zero when you are turning on the transmitter?

the esc doesn't turn on at all until I use the checker, the throttle trim is at its normal position

Pug is correct. A bad servo can also cause it. Does the servo work? Unplug the servo from the receiver and see if ESC will come on.

It could be a number of things, and without knowing exactly what all you have tried, it is hard to say.

Have you tried rebinding and calibrating everything? Start with the basics. Rebind the transmitter to the receiver, then calibrate the ESC.

If the ESC won't come on plugged into the receiver throttle channel 1, try plugging it into channel 2.

Is your battery ok?

yep battery is all fine, the esc doesn't turn on at all so I can't bind it, ill try the servo a bit later

it may be the connecter on the esc, not the battery since the battery works with the checker

Check the servo first! Servos can cause more issues than you can imagine!

i will, i don't have time right now so ill do it later

it wasn't the servo, so i am stumped

If you havent already, follow these steps and see what results you get

1) unplug anything plugged in to the receiver except for the ESC and see if it powers on.
2) If step 1 didnt work then try replacing the receiver.
3) If step 2 didnt work then try replacing the connector on the ESC
4) If none of these work replace the ESC.

When you say the ESC doesn't turn on until you use the battery checker, What are you plugging in to the checker? The battery or the ESC plug that goes in to the receiver?

I'm confused here because plugging the checker in to the battery should have no affect on the ESC what so ever but if you're plugging the ESC in to the checker and the ESC is coming on then it can't be the ESC plug.

ESC plug to receiver is the only way it turns on

So if it turns on when its plugged in to the RX is there something its not doing properly when connected? I'm having a hard time following the exact nature of the problem.

ill post a video a bit later when I have time, then I think you will understand it
