Sorry Traxxas fan boys... I'm a traxxas guy my self. But not so thrilled with traxxas trying to reinvent the wheel. With their new servo mounting style on the Xmaxx. They also should release a roller option for the X. Considering everyone changes out the electronics anyway.. sometimes before they even drive it first

It was a nice surprise.. Arrma gives you two options for servo mounts rite out-of the box. For either a standard or a huge 5th scale servo. And they didn't try to reinvent the wheel. Servos been mounted with the 4 screw ear tabes since the beginning with no problems. Till traxxas messed it up. Instead of redesigning the servo mounting. They should have put more time into their electronics.. to make them better. Or just put out a roller like arrma

I just recently installed new steering servos in both the Outcast and Xmaxx and I agree, Arrma did a way better job with the mounting adapters.

Hell yeah they did. Now I got to cut up my X. To install a true 5th scale servo. Instead of over straining a standard high tourqe servo..

That being said, even with the undersized servo, my Xmaxx turns way better than my Outcast. Granted I'm still working the bugs out of the outcast, but the steering and front end in general seems really sloppy compared to the X.

On the outlast? What servo you running in the X. Was going to throw a savox in it. But got a deal on the 5th scale servo. When I bought two so for 50$ couldn't pass that up
What style linkage you running on the X

The traxxas upgraded metal gear servo. I was skeptical but so far it works great, even with the heavier 17mm hex sixpacks.
The linkage is all still factory. Can't believe it's survived this long 😂

Wow me either.. so your running the 2085X traxxas servo... cool. I don't like any of traxxas electronics. They need to put some more time and development into their electronics.. just keep a eye on your servo saver.. to tight it will burn out thr servo just a heads up... its a good servo and definitely set the end points to about 90% so you don't over strain it.. i picked up solid links and the traxxas adjustable links. Will see which is a better fit..don't like the plastic rod ends. Trying to find better aluminum ends for the trx ones. So far no luck. Also got the aluminum servo linkage for the X. I'm all about blue hahah

I'll likely get the aluminum stuff but I'm kinda thrifty in that respect. I'll run the factory stuff till it breaks. With the new ramp I'm building, it shouldn't be long 😂
