Thinking about getting one of these. Trying to decide which one. The 223 or the 6s.

I’m not a huge basher. If I find a natural jump or such I’ll send it. But, I spend far more time ripping around. Looking for wot when I can.

I’m somewhat limited on at home ripping with the bigger trucks. But, I make time to run my sledge and Xmaxx close to home. So, the 6s is an option. However, I’m not sure if it’s a better option then the 223

I use my maxx and rustler to exercise the dogs. Problem is, the dogs will het ahold of it if I don’t keep it moving quickly. So, my rustler gets little use as it bounces around a lot and doesn’t handle the best in this terrain.

Does the 223 handle off road grass, gravel, and typical yard running pretty good? Is it big enough to have the suspension travel to keep under control while giving it heck?

I’d love to hear from those that have one. How fast are they? How do they handle? Etc..

I like the Big Rock 6s but it has issues if you beat on it. The chassis bends very easily and the body smashes up fast and is really expensive. Also, Arrma is not selling them anymore. Maybe they're going to release a V6 version? If not then the body supply will run out fast.

I can't wait to hear your monster truck decision making game plan. The 223 and 6S Big Rock platforms are on different levels no doubt about it.

Your Sledge, and Xmaxx are not up to the task of off-road adventures?
Yes. But, they are too big to run here at the house and keep them away from the dogs. You gotta be quick. lol

The Xmaxx is simply not agile enough. It’s plenty fast but, they catch it when turning it. The rustler can’t handle the terrain without getting caught. It’s plenty fast but it’s hard to control. When you got 5 big dogs you just can’t keep it away from them. They’ve learned that what goes out comes back. And, they learned to short cut the RC’s. lol.

The maxx does great but, my neighbors dog got a hold of it last week and chewed it up pretty good. The sledge is simply too big and fast. It’d hurt the dogs.

So, I’m back to wrenching on the maxx after just putting an esc in it. And, truthfully, I’m just looking to get something else.

I blame it on the dogs but, I sold a couple tmaxx’s last week. And, I’ve had so much fun with those dogs and battery cars, I’m going to buy something else. And, it’s going to be one of the two big rocks I'm pretty certain.

Too light/small of a platform... a problem. Too big/heavy... a problem. You got yourself in a predicament. Looks like a 3S platform it shall be since the 6S is "discontinued" and possibly too heavy for your situation. But nobody says you have to run a 6S platform on 6S.

I don't know the dogs and their behavior. Using RCs to lure/play with/exercise a dog, or dogs, can be a sketchy subject.

Hopefully, someone can give the 223S a big two thumbs up for you.

Good luck.

Well, I’m on the way to pick up a big rock 6 s. Found one used local that’s had 2 packs run through it. With three batteries. Meeting him at 6. $400. Ordered two 3 cells for it a minute ago.

It’s the latest version. So, if it doesn’t work well enough, I’ll trade up something else.

Don’t get me wrong, I exercise the dogs and use battery RC’s to do it. But, it’s fun for me too. So, it’s a win/win.

Fella threw in a couple ovoniks batteries. But, I didn’t find out my charger is lacking the ic5 adaptor. So, I ordered one. Reckon I’ll have to wait to run it.

It came with an extra body still in the plastics, high speed gearing, owners manual, and the two 3s batteries. I’m pretty excited to see it run.

Looks great, hope you, and the dogs, enjoy it!

I’m sure we will.

It dang sure is a good looking truck. It’s literally brand new. I found one blade of grass in it. I’m excited. Going to hope amains does what it normally does. Then I’ll have a way to charge a couple sets so I can run it a while at the park and get to know it.

The batteries got a full charge. I’m going to run it tomorrow. It’ll be fun I'm sure.

It didn’t last long yesterday. About 1 minute until I noticed it was turning a lot more rpm’s then it was moving. The left rear lug nut came off. I stripped the hub on the wheel before I realized the problem.

So, I ordered a set of wheels and a new hub kit. Hopefully be in business by Sunday. Then get a really good run on it.

In my experiences, and if I had to put a number on it, 98% of the time it's the left side wheel nuts loosening.
