Has anyone used SMC batteries before? I am looking to buy two 4200 or 4300 battery packs for use in my crawler. I am getting ready to order an ice charger from Tower today, and want to push the total over 149 to get the $20 discount and the $20 rebate for the ice. But I wanted to know if these were any good before I ordered them since I know nothing of electric rc cars, and/or batteries.

Thanks guys.

They should be fine.
They are not a "Race Matched" Set but they arent garbage either.
If your racing, make sure the track will let you use 4200s.
They are also front to back configuration. De sure your Car / truck will take them.

These will be for use in my crawler. So with twin 55t lathe motors I don't think I'll be doing any "racing" any time soon, LOL :D

I just wanted to make sure they were not junk packs, I'll be running two packs with a super duty XR and two 55t motors. I would like to get some decent run time, but don't really think the extra expense of race matched packs will really make a difference with the crawler, at least not enough to justify the added expense. The configuration is unimportant as they will sit between the upper and lower decks of my chassis, so any config will work there. Thanks for the input.

Hmmmm, the esc can handle up to 14 cells... I have not seen any high mah rated 7 cell packs though. I want as looooong as possible run times.

only thing is if I ever do decide to get rid of the crawler I could still use the 6 cell packs for my sons Stampede.

Plus I'm thinking 7 cell packs may be a tad too long and interfere with my upper links.

Would a configuration like this work?

Nope, there is just enough room for two flat packs stacked to fit between the two plates. However Dom has decided to throw a monkey wrench in to my choices, lol. He suggested going with a 4 cell lipo pack, maybe something like a 4000 or 8000mah pack. Much smaller, and would easily fit in the area I want to mount the batteries. So now I need to see what my super Duty XR can handle, and if it can handle a lipo pack. Ohhhh I'm soooo confused, lol.
