I am looking for a Forum where I can get some answers to some legal questions. A Jerkoff in my fathers housing eddition is breaking some of the covanants and I wanted to get a little info about what he needs to do. He went and talked to the sherif becuase he dosn't live in the city limits and the sherif said he needed a lawer to file something so that a judge would send him out there. I thought that was nuts cause a buddy got a ticket for having a B-Ball gaol in culdesack anyway looking for a place to get some free help before seeking legal concil. X

The first place your dad needs to go to is the company who manages the development/home owners association. They hold the leash on the legal dogs for covenant breakers. If there is not such association, then the only way you will be able to get the covenant breaker legally is if the covenant he is breaking also happens to be a city law or ordnance. Otherwise covenants are just so much writing on paper.

Why would they have a problem with Maxxwhatever the word?

Friggin multi-billion dollar defense contractor - right?

I get a letter from one of their high zoot lawyers threatening to sue me and claiming all kinds slanderous crap from my use of Maxxskunkworks because "skunkworks" is a registered trademark of Lockheed Martin's. The letter was quite hilarious, claiming that I was deceitfully using the name, yada, yada, yada.

I left two voice mails with the attorney basicly stating that "you guys are ridiculously out of line, that no-one in their right mind is going to confuse my little web-site for Lockheed Martin". I never heard anything back from them.

Yep...some second string legal guy getting paid big bucks to search for, find and intimidate anyone "infringing" upon the multi-billion dollar company's domain...
