Robin over at ERCM has a great tuning guide that helps you understand what you need to listen for. That was one of my biggest problems with tuning was not knowing what to listen for, also don't forget about the idle needle tune. That makes a world of difference!

Squirrel (i think thats his name) on youtube has alot of great videos too!

thanks for the help ill post a vid tomorrow some time with it running and the pull start on :)

Fantastic news to hear she is breathing! can't wait to see her rippin!

ya i tried to get a video today but by the time i got it tuned decent enough to just run without instantly dying my ez start motor blew ill get some tomorrow just for you guys who helped me all this way through the hell of learning nitro from point 1 all in one post. still can't belive i took this beast down to every bolt knowing nothing about it and put it back together and it works haha

HA this is to fun, trying to get an engine running with a pull start, my arms tired :P but i need to go by a c battery for the glow start mines showing right on the edge of the 2 i got it to run for about 3 seconds then nothing so I'm thinking the plugs just not getting hot

Stick a new medium plug in her and try that. Sorry for the non response but i been kinda distracted lately. Been given the position of the tech/mechanic at the lhs and we are in the process of moving to new location. Also grandmother is in hospital with issues as well. But anywYs., sounds like you got it narrowed down to a tuning issue anyways.

two videos the second one it died on me

lmfao ya i pulled the rubber off and when i put them back on i wasn't paying attention but i ordered some new ones just waiting for the mail

I found snipping my fuel lines as short-route as possible made a differance for some reason, less travel in the line I guess. That thing looks pretty freakin nice though, nicely done

Wait what, I just got done looping my fuel line all the place, I read that the feed line should have a few loops to help with the pressure, so what is loop or not.

thank you. the lines were about 3 inches each i made um longer to 6 inches incase it flips :( which i dont want but does happen, theres enough fuel to keep it running long enough i can go flip it and it will still be running. *update* i can get it started still sometimes but the idle screw is so touchy one second it will start an run the next it dies. and i stopped trying after yet another engine mount screw flew out when i started it and it reved outa control lol so I'm gunna have to grab some lock tight for those screws tomorrow

You do know you have one of your tires on backwards right..

on that note i also have to replace a uh "tie rod" ? lol the aluminum rod that attaches to the wheels for steering i bought the new ones just have yet to replace them until i get it running good. *may crash it while it revs out of control*

There is no "idle screw" really, you get your engine to idle correctly by tuning the LSN, have you tried tuning the LSN?

Seemed lean to me in the vid.

+1 on lsn for idle. Once you set your idle gap to 1mm you dont touch it anymore. You use the lsn to adjust the idle. Also if you shorten your fuel lines like stated above it makes it easier to tune. I cut mine off the revo and shortened it straight from tank to carb and it did make a difference. It starts quicker and its easier tuned now. When it flips over you want it to stall anyways to keep it from leaning out on you and burning a plug.

ok so i got it running good well good to my specs haha it will run for about ten minutes no problem brakes work good without it dying, but the throttle seems to lag a little like it takes a second to kick in to gear or something. and twice now its randomly just died while sitting at idle after running some laps but i let it idle prior for a minute and it did just fine. no clue whats goin on there. yet again thanks for the help everyone.

on a better note i got a new truck stand!

ROLEX i know shes dirty dont tear up like that!

Those 2.5 trannys are notorious for jerking and snatching into gear. You install the FOC and it goes away. Or there is a trick snookman showed me to help it engage into gear better and stop jerking and snatching. But you gotta tear into the trans to do it. Pm me if you want to know how and i will give you my # and walk you through it.

oh man thats a project for a later day i just got this thing back together haha!
