Anyone got a how to on putting a tmaxx back together?

Your stock carb settings are gonna be idle gap of 1mm HSN 4 turns out from closed and LSN 2 turns out from closed or flush with the rim. This is a rich breakin setting so your gonna have to tune it from there.
 
What happened to this tmaxx? Did the guy you got it from take every screw off every part of it and put it in a box and never re assemble it? Sounds like youve had your hands full with this thing. This is the best way to learn about them though. Only thing I'm concerned about is why he did it? Maybe the engine is worn and quit running so he decided to take it all down for a cleaning. Lets hope it is still in running condition. If not i will advise you to just buy a new engine instead of rebuilding. Its only about $20 to $30 difference in cost from rebuild or buy new.
 
nope i bought it at a yard sale for 45 bucks with everything got it running after i bought the ez start box and a new wireing harnes for it. it ran but fuel was coming out inbetween the cooling head and the engine and out of the exhaust. while looking at it i noticed the dust boot was dry rotted out. and the whole thing was covered in fuel and oil then on top of that was dirt. So i took it all apart and cleaned it lol i figured like ya said, what better way to learn then to take it all apart. but oh man its a hard way to learn lmfao. hows the hangover?

i got the elctronics in I've still gotta put in the engine and the carb and figure out how to put the piece on the back that the back shocks mount to along with the body post.
 
The one bit of advice I can give you is to print out the exploded view from traxxas and keep it next to the build, look at as you put it together. Thr is shims, clips and amount of free play with certain parts that you won't know about unless you read it, also it will help you to identify the name of the parts your installing.
 
I've got um printed but that thing makes my eyes hurt ! and between the crown and coke and trying to look at that its not working so well ! :P

now that thats over with I'm lookin in the blowup for where to re install this stupid thing hahaha

If your going to keep it EZ and need components for it let me know I have 2 whole setups with wands. I converted the Jato and Revo into pull start.

Any progress?
 
where do my rear rod ends connect since i obviously dont have steering back there?

lmfao nevermind i put them on backwards..... on the inside not the outside :/

look at the bottom of the shock tower lower on each side, should be 4 holes, one of those holes.
 
next step, put together the EZ start, i took the gears out cleaned and grease but now i gotta figure out how that goes LOL! hopefully someone can use this thread for later use one day!

edited the wrong one, I've got it all setup just can't remember where to install it lol gotta look at the blowup

I actually think i drank myself sober and resorted to watching movies. Btw ACT OF VALOR is a great one! Watching the new Sherlock Holmes now.
 
shoud my idle speed screw stop spinning ? its screwed in but its still spinning like its not in all that way or something

the new holmes is pretty good
 
I have an extra carb complete for the 2.5 as well. Nothing wrong with it good boot and set to factory settings already too. Also have the 2.5r block crank and bearings. Head also but its got a loose cooling fin near the top.
 
man i wish i could figure out what way this carb is supposed to be on the enging one way its in the way of the ez start engine the other way is just wrong lol
 
any idea why the carb would stick when closing? it wont close all the way unless i push it close.....

well its complete ..... but can't get it running :( oh well ill try again tomorrow
