trying to help a kid get this car running right....his folks are just scum and shouldn't be allowed to breed....this is what I got to work w/ and is it worth saving the car....all the electronics work JR servos and the older 2 CH FFM radio...OS engine has good compression....if the car is absolute poo-poo I might be in teh market for a cheap roller to set the kid up.....any help w/ identifying this would be appreciated...thanks

none....there is a tamiya stamp on the pipe but nothing I can find on the car.....he says he got it from someone who used to race a lot...it looks like the guy took good parts and stuck em on a crappy car........I'm fairly sure it's just crap at this point...the front diff is toasted....I took it apart and the gears are in chunks......I'm going to take the rear apart and see if I can get a similar set....alot of these companies make the same molded gears just different types of metals......

Looks like Digger nailed it. My original guess was a Tamiya, altho the chassis is unfamiliar. Frankly, it looks like it'd be a decent toy car, altho I'd bet it wouldn't stand up to anything a kid could dish out. Did the kid even get a transmitter with it?

yeah it has good radio gear and engine it seems......Z250 for T/b and 270 for steering and a CV-r .12 w/ pull start.......it does look like the one digger found but his rtr looks better than what I have here.....plastic shocks and all......I knew I was biting off more than I wanted to w/ this......crap.....gonna check FE's site for a manual....thanks digger

Glad that was it. Let us know how it turns out.

Sounds like you might be a big influence in keeping the kid out of trouble.
Good luck with it.

yeah,

I too agree with digger...it looks like a tg-10 one of my neighbors had. fun little car, a bit undergeared IMO.

To me that looks like the tamiya ready to run, One speed kit.. a buddy of mine has it.

all that plastic on the chassis makes it look like the tamiya

sort of....It's beyond reapair....the inside of the front diff is just shredded to where the bearing carriers have play....the front of the car looks like it's been hammered on but ht eback looks like it was replaced and never run since....I tried running it RWD and it's just retarded......NO control at anything above 1/2 throttle

hey Plaid, i have access to a bunch of old rollers if you're still interested in pursuing that. i kinda got a soft spot for the kids, myself. i think i can get a 1/10 scale ST. i'll look tomorrow and i'll let you know.

well aj I will need the engine for something else possibly...and unless you have another one of these already it's just a pile of poo.....I have to ask his permission to sell the parts on e-bay and maybe use that cash towards something better for him......
Truthseeker I'd really appreciate that.....thank you

no problem man. i didn't get a chance to get to the shop today (yesterday?) but i'll check tomorrow (today?) for sure. had to celebrate my old man's b-day today and were in no condition to go to the shop.

Aww C'mon Booze and Big cutting power tools don't mix?!??!?!
LOL...:jk: whenever you find something hit me up in a PM.....

Have you got the kid something to run?
Maybe we could pitch in someway?

You are making a difference in this kids life. Maybe the rest of us could help a little? I'll help what I can. Might not be much, but I'm here for ya.
