Hey Guys,

I posted in the General Electric Talk about going out to buy my stepson a Slash for Xmas and ended up buying one for myself. Wife is not going to be happy.

Lessen made the comment that I like to build my own doghouse! LOL

So it made me wonder.... Any of you guys ever do this? Build your own doghouse?

that depends, are you being literal and gonna build a house for your dog. or are you talking about a "man cave" to go when the proverbial "scat hits the wind creating device"? the latter yes, its call a garage, hobby room, basement, back yard, etc.. :p::D

i'm with Beason...literally..yes. about 15 yrs back for my old pooch. it took me and the old man the whole day to scratch build it. the dog loved that house. and then again last week when an unexpected trip to the dry cleaners also included a stop at LHS (they are right next door to each other). 1 e-revo, spectrum radio and hyperion charger later i walked out. when the wife saw the boxes she just shook her head and walked away. :)

This sort of reminds me of that commercial where the football fan brings his wife (still in robe and just woke up) outside to see that he turned there big SUV into a helmet. Hehe, that's a good one.

I have done both, I have built houses for my dogs, and I have done stuff knowing that without doubt that my wife wasn't gonna be happy about it. Sometimes its a choice you just have to make they will get over it in time. There are things a women just doesn't understand like mans eternal desire to supply his inner child with some kick ass toys.

Well actually I was speaking of "the wife is pissed at me, and I am living in the dog house" deal. At least that is what I figured Lessen was speaking of. Meaning that I enjoy being in trouble. LOL Kinda like digging your own grave deal.

Savage... I wish my wife was as understanding... I really don't think she would have bought me that Tmaxx if she would have known what it would have started! :whhooo:

You just hit the nail on the head!!!

Hell yeah brotha!

yes, precisely. I think that everytime I attempt to tell my wife what I "want to do next is..." or "I only need..." or "I'm tired of that body", I'm simply building an addition to the house that I will someday be forced to move into. At least when I'm finally there I'll have wood floors, stainless appliances, a wrapparound porch, gameroom and a bowling alley :D

After all of these years my wife doesn't even flinch at things like that, I don't think she even pays attention anymore when a new box shows up.

My ex would constantly complain when a new kit would show up. That would mean I'd be 'gone' for a couple days. Not physically gone, just mentally absorbed in the kit.

(that's not the reason she's an ex; she's an ex because of her cleaning and child care skills).

I am right there with you. The spa gets installed next week!

Godale 03 builds on his dog house more than anyone that I've seen, and I'm just hoping and praying that the communication increases between them so that he isn't forced to live in this doghouse full time, and find a new "poodle" to help take care of the "pups". THings have been improving a lot, because these types of threads are getting spaced further and further apart each time. I don't blame ya though, the slash is the best RC that Traxxas has made in the last 4-8 years at least, I don't know about models from the 90s and things like that.

That being said, a few years back we built a doghouse for my dog that matches my house. My house is a colonial type home that was built on a plantation back around the 30s or 40s I believe, white two stories with lots of tall columns and a front porch across the entire front of the house. My Mom was raised in the house and then I stayed there when I was little because I took care of my Grandmother who was in a wheelchair. So when my Grandmother passed away she left it to me. As it's a great since of pride for me, we wanted to build a cool doghouse. So we went and got some siding from the people who had put the vinyl siding on the house a few years before, so it would match. Then we went to Lowes and got plenty of lumber, shingles, insulation, stuff like that. We didn't have time to build it identical with the same different roof angles and stuff like that, but we built it where it matches the main part of the house pretty good, and we built a big front porch on it, although no shingles. The dog was thrilled. He doesn't sleep outside at night, but during the day he likes to stand on the porch like he's really something to live in a house like that, haha, little snood!
