Yesterday I got to meet, talk to and shake the hand of none other than Ewa Mataya Laurance. She goes by the nickname of "The Striking Viking" for good reasons.

I love playing pool. Could play it every day. I'm ridiculously horrible at it.

She made an all day guest appearance at a showroom for "Games & Things". It's a store that sells high end tables and game room furniture and accessories.
I made a special trip just to meet her, but I couldn't stay long enough to play a game of 9 ball against her. I had to get my lady home and meet a salesman for a test drive in a car I looked at a day earlier.

If you beat her in a game you would get a $400 cue case. If no one beat her, whoever sunk the most balls in a game would get it. She racked, challenger broke.

She's a Viking, I'm a Viking and I have a Viking cue stick.

Oddly enough, I don't often watch the men play, but seeing women possess such a skill on a pool table just amazes me.

I'm sure they will eventually all play in the same league, since the game is skill rather than power. I'd really enjoy seeing a woman become the best player in the world.
