I'm bout to get a traxxas slash, but i for sure dont want to keep it stock. i already plan on getting bead-lock wheels, and lypo batteries, but anyone got an opinion on a good performing motor out there?

I'd definitely recommend going brushless if you're going for torque and speed. Also less maintenance. The 4700kv Sidewinder motor and ESC is great with a 3S LiPo, which has the most RPM.

I plan to go BL some day but lately when I get to run my slash, I find it is fast enough for the entertainment factor. Not saying that you shouldn't go BL but get a good feel of it with the standard Titan before you go for it, that is if you haven't had much experience with electric RC's.

With bl and the same bateries ur using now, it will only go a lil faster, but you will get much longer runtimes.

Chip suggested that you try to keep your motor rpm around 30K with brushless. I like 40-45 more but thats just me. I would say the 4600 with a 3S is a great setup. My crt .5 hs a feigao motor and i really like it.

ya but it burnt up, and i deffinetly can't afford for that to happen

litterally. i can't afford it

so keep it stock. a bl conversion is like another $200 on top of the $200 for the truck, and $50 a piece batteries.

i no but stock is to slow 4 me and I'm askin 4 it for christmas, so hopefully i will have a little cash as long as the other cars dont run me dry. i dont need it to as fast as urs. shoot, u can't even get it to full speed, I'm talkin like 60 m.p.h. would be good 4 me. and torque 4 sure.

What battery is 50? The 6000 3s I priced was 180.

Why do you need to go 60? You can't control it. 50 is the max I want my rigs going.

Get something fun to drive with long runtimes. Get the lowest kV sidewinder with a 3s. There is more to rc than hsr's

the 7cell's that he would be running. I wouldnt trust a 14year old unsupervised in his bedroom trying to charge lipos.

well i dont want a grandma r/c car, otherwise id get a rock crawler with stiff shocks, a blinker that always is on and a lincoln town car body. I'm in the sport to bash poop. not take it easy. and with a lipo batterie, i can prolly run my dads hummer for 15 mins. it lasts about 25 mins. as it is with a brushless. and thats runnin a almost 80 m.p.h. my brothers goes 75 with the lypo and brushless in the slash and he gets a good 25 mins. out of 1 charge, plus it looks cool.

lol! that was a good joke about the grandma car!! i need some props 4 that one.

in one breath you say you can't afford to replace a brushless system and then in the next breath you are saying you like to bash hard and not take it easy. If you wantto bash, you need cash. bottom line.

what did you use to determine the speed of the 80mph hummer and 75mph slash?

no the lypo batterie can power my dads real h2!! nevermind. I'm sayin i can't afford to replace the motor if it burns up. thats what my bros did. and a $3000 radar gun did the trick of determining the speed. dont beleive me? ask alpinehyperlite. his will do 75 m.p.h.

What was the motor, gearing, tires, and batteries of the rig that did 75 mph for 25 mins? Sounds fishy, very fishy.

Castle loves you hardcore 3s on a 7700 guys.

Slapping a big lipo on a high kV motor doesn't make you hardcore. It makes you ignorant as to how these setups are designed to run.

that was my next question.
