Well, I just became one. It was time for the old lady to get a car so I gave her my 2000 Ford Focus and just picked myself up a Nissan. It is used but only a 2003 with 25k. It is a certified used car so it is covered and in really good condition. I got the Sentra R Spec V. It is the sporty Sentra and really surprised me with it's power. It is power everything with a moonroof and spoiler. It came with 17" rims with 215/45 series tires. I snagged this puppy for just over 12k and with 2k down I owe a modest amount with the best interest rate I have ever had. Anyways I am loving this car, any other Nissan owners out there?

I got a 2002 nissan xterra and It was for just around 16K with 22000 miles on it. It is not the Super charged but I am very happy with it. White on charcoal interior. Very nice.

Congrats on the purchase. Nice ride and impressive punch.

Jon

My first car was a 93 sentra 4dr XE. It was a good car. It was a hand me down, had about 165k miles on it when I got. I drove about 15k-20k miles, alot of which were bashing the poop out of it. Finally the tranny gave out and I got my corolla.

They're good cars. My mom has a 2001 Sentra SE with the SR20 motor.

Spec V's are pretty quick. They can almost keep up with RSX Type S's. The only real issue i've heard with them is their 1st gear is geared too low, and the back end is a little light which makes for some interesting handling characteristics.

I know they make some killer torque which is a real blessing for everyday driving.

I am loving it, and the first gear is a granny gear, but my Saab 9000 had the same thing so I am used to it. Very fast, and it even has a 6 speed manual, yes a six speed!

6-speed...must be nice. What's your redline at? Also, what the rpm's at when you're on the freeway in 6th gear?

I have a 86' Nissan Pick-up truck. lol Love to have the spec-v though.

Back in 1987 when I was a senior in high school I bought a 1977 280Z. I loved that car. I think it weighed a mere 2378 lbs. and it had 170 HP inline 6. That inline 6 it had great torque. That spec V is a nice ride for the money. The Altima is a great ride too. Nissan makes a great car, enjoy.

Hehe, haven't had it all of an hour. I will go look at the redline for the rpms when I am done for lunch. I will have to check the rpms on the 6th gear also as I haven't gotten it out of 4th. I put like 4 miles on it :smoke: I sure like it. I will have to get some shots of it. It is silver just like my Focus. I figure silver cars are invisible........

my bros got the first of that new body model sentra. the B-15 he just has the se because the SE-R wasn't available when he was buying it.its a hot car. he did the works my uncle who was the salesman @ the time hooked us up wiht the leather seats. its got moon/sun roof spoiler all types a sheet. it looks even better in black. luck 17's his only has 16's the se-r rims are hot. nice buy Blaze I'm sure it wont dissappoint you.

Kwong, it redlines at 6500rpms. I stilll need to check on the freeway 6th gear thing.

I've got a 1994 200SX....200bhp of rear wheel drive fun and its in a pretty good condition... you don't wanna know how cheap I got this puppy 6 months ago....

nice job picking up a heck of a deal. I'm not a nissan owner but i can appreciate them. i designed the turbo system that one of my good friends and i put on his nissan altima. the older one with the 2.4L in it. last time we put it on a dyno it was making 200whp with 6psi of non-intercooled boost (this is through an auto tranny too). since then its been intercooled and boost is at 15psi with forged pistons. those nissans can take a pretty good beating and come back asking for more.

Oh its a manual (stick shift? for you americans)
Yeah I've hammered the hell out of it for 6 months gone, through a set of tyres and never checked the oil, water or anything else. If I nail it in 1st and keep it flat into 2nd I can get it to spin all the way in the dry until the change into 3rd.... for the price i paid if it breaks i throw it away...

I will get some better pictures, but this is one from my office and hence the quality, ooh and the camera sucks, yeah that's it. It get's dark so early it will make it hard to get some detailed photos until this weeked. I drove this thing around for a while last night and I am very, very impressed. It's like Nissan made a scaled down Skyline or some poop with this bad dog. I can deffintely feel the 175bhp @ 6000rpms and the 180 ft lbs of torque @ 4k. Now the 175bhp is good for a small car but not the beefiest 4 cylnder out there, what makes this engine shine is the 180ft lbs of torque. You really only see that kind of torque with turbos, and like my Saab 9000 it is a front wheel drive so the torque steer is all to familiar and my drving style fits it as I really learned to drive fast on the Saab. Corners are eated alive by this car, ans even in the rain the suspension and 17" rims with 215/45 hug the road. The ABS 4 wheel disc brakes are AMAZING! I have never had this kind of stopping power. What a great cheap car this is turning out to be. Go Nissan!

Yep, the stopping power is amazing. In my mom's 01 Se, she's got the same disk brake setup as the spec v's (I think). When I ride with my mom sometimes I swear she's gonna get in a wreck. If the light is yellow, and she can stop, no matter how hard she needs to put on the brakes, she'll do it. And I swear someday someone will tailgate her and she'll outbrake them and get rear ended.

On your car, can you sit in the seat with the proper distance from the steering wheel and not have your feet scrunched up? On my corolla, I can't do that, the pedals are set too close :(

Is it pretty easy to do heal-toe downshifts? Pedals feel nice?

The pedals are close together but once again so was my Saab so I am used to this. Close pedals make for faster shifiting on a manual. I am no heal-toe shifter but I do prefer them closer than having to "hunt" around for the pedals. As far as the car fitting me, well most know I am a big guy @ 6'2" and 260lbs. I fit very well and have plenty of leg room. I do set the lumbar back pretty far but that is for my torso (to get my belly out of the way of the wheel :) ). They are Skyline seats, or modeled after a Skyline so they are a snug fit and have great support.

Same with my corolla, the pedals are REALLY close together. First time i sat in it, my right foot was hitting the brake and the clutch. I found that if I use only the right part of the brake pedal, then I don't have any issues with it.

How's the sound system?
