any CEN CT-5 /4 owners here

just wondering if anyone else has one of these speed demons? love mine, very fast, drives and corners like its on rails!!! faster than my 1/5th onroad gassers, and being 4wd handles great but something about seeing a 3 feet long RC car moving at 50MPH is hard to ignore. lol

I read on this forum that the ct4 was a lil slow on acceleration, does the ct5 have this problem?

i think it had to do with the belt/gearing. the ct4, i believe came with the speed gearing/belts, and the "track" gears/belts were an option. but I'm not positive.

but my ct5 came with the "track" gearing/belts installed as RTR, but included the "speed" items in a bag. i think i have some prety good pickup, its not STELLAR OMG Fast, but i added a traxxas trx .15 chrome tuned pipe adn its much better, and needs to be leaned up. thats where i left it last fall. i havent even started/ran it yet this yr. so i would say Yes, but only to the point of a bit of modding/tweaking/tuning. and what onroad dont need this a bit when RTR?

besides if you race Roar you need to drop to a .12 motor as the NX-15 is to big for RoaR sacntioned races anyways. but i love mine. other than better radio/electronics, its been great.

but i also dont race with it, i only race myself around my area. i may at some point drive the 1 and 1/2 to go race others. but.....

i had the cen ct4-r (the kit) and bought a os 18tz that thing was insane, from take off to top end. the only thing i didnt like was that i kept stripping my plastic pulleys and sometime ripping the belts, but that was cuz i was running on the dirty asphalt and these lil rocks would go through the chassis.
