i'm looking for a radio that doesn't have an antenna... catchy thread title, eh?

i have a futaba 3PM right now... and i saw that they came out with their 2.4gz version. http://2.4gigahertz.com/systems/futk2020.html

should i just go with that? or is there another nice radio (maybe that costs less) with little to no antenna that i should consider?

i called futaba... i was hoping i could convert my current 3PM over to this version... nope! so... here i am.

That's the antenna on top, folded forward.
It seems that anything on 2.4 Gh doesn't require the long antennas. My alarm system is on 2.4, and there are no visible antennas, other than a 2" one on the receiver that turns on the VCR for recording.
There are none that I know of without an antenna. That technology is still a ways off, I would think.

no no, i know that the one i pictured has an antenna. hence the comment on there being little to no antenna.

i like the size of the antenna on this 3PM... just wondering if any others have a similar setup...

i thought hitec had something... nothing from JR... i guess this futaba is the way to go. i just want to make sure, before i go selling my current 3PM :)

no... i have the model before that. the regular 3PM

i want the 'antenna-less' 3PM that i originally posted.

i'm just not sure if i want to upgrade just yet... keep an eye on my for sale thread... i just may put it up ;)

Nomadio React does not have an antenna. Also the new Futaba systems with Fasst have very short antenna's. As does the Airtronics MX3 with thier 2.4 gHz system..

I'm using the react. it has NO outside antenna on the TX and the RX only has about 5 inches of it. i can completely hide the rx antenna under my shell in the Baja and go 300 yrd plus with no glitching or delay.

$270... wow. i'd say that's a little out of my price range... lol. thanks for the heads up, though. it is pretty sweet.

300 yards...I don't even think could see that far.

Mallanga, why the big deal with having an antenna less radio?

meh... no reason. convenience, i'd say. say... i flip on my lid, right? it happens! when i go to run over there, the antenna is boggling all over the place, and bending, unless i put it down first. then i have to put it back up...

you feel me? there's a lazy person in all of us...

and seriously... 300yd?? that's 3 football fields! unless you're driving around a 1:1 RC... you got some gooooood eyes!

that new Nomadio looks pretty decent. The old Sensor looked like a pos. I know it performed and all that, and it had just about every bell and whistle, but it looked like it was made by Tyco. The new Nomadio is awesome. Personally, I have a 3pm 2.4ghz now. I likes me my futaba radios.

Nomadio is using a stock case from another company for the React. i dont recall exactly, but i think its an airtronics case, with nomadio guts, thus the plug where the antenna would typcially be.

you can get the Futaba 3PM FASST 2.4 setup, considering your already used to the radio, currently owning one, for about 180.00. simple tx/rx pack.

I've heard very good reports on them so far. the 3PK FASST is about 330.00 or so.
