[align=center] Well, Not exactlly "New' or... even a "Car" for that matter.
I just took what I consider the first big-step up from the original Nitro touring-car that I recieved almost a month ago. I finnaly decided for good that I'm really not into on-road, So after a quick visit to Tower Hobbies I grabbed this great deal. I was just curious what some of the avid R/C gods here on the site think about it. have any of you ever had any run-ins with this one? If so how did it handle? was it durable enough to bash? OOO NOOO...save the pennies till you can get a better RC......you will hear this alot from guys into this hobby for years....you will spend more money in the long run to make that one into something it will never be....save a little more and get teh RC10GT or Losi XXX-nt......cost a little more but you rape your existing RC for the radio gear and what not.....and then upgrade those when you can.....

So this TEH RC10GT and Lousy XXX-nt, where can you find em? You know I'm a n00b man, Don't throw all these complicated terms at me. And I was actually thinking the same thing. If I went ahead and processed this order- i would have to take the servos OUT of my old car and put em in the new one. For one I don't think the were made for off-roadin, for another, there Smartech...

Actually, i just found some on Tower Hobbies... This may sound stupid, but I did not think simply searching "RC10GT" would pull anything. This thing actuall looks pretty good, and all in all inst that much more expensive. So I am assuming you would recommend this one as compared to others? What trucks would you say you really liked??

First off answer a few questions....

1) how much are you looking to spend?

2) What do you plan on doing with it? (Race or Bash)

3) Where do you plan on driving this thing?

Lets get a base then we can help you from there.

Well, i have some extensive networks of construction areas and drainage ditches right behind my appartment that have been vacated for years. I am planning on riding there for a while. it's some pretty tough terrain- jumps galore as well as some dangerous spots. I guess I am looking at around $250 give or take for a RTR nitro TRUCK. I'm looking at traxxas.com right now...

you can find the rc10gt on tower for about 260.00. there are losi xxx-nt on ebay for about 250.00 new

If I were you I would go with a monster truck. I would save for a bit, and buy yourlsef a good mt. Tamya has the TNX that goes for around $300, team associated Monster gt for around $330. Both are great trucks and I would wait to get one of those. You could also put out that you are looking to buy a truck in the FS/FT thread saying what you are willing to spend and what you are looking for.

If you still want to go with a stadium truck go with a team associated or Team losi truck. Both have great parts availability and are fairly durable.

I would go with a monster truck too. Kinda sounds the best for the terrain your looking to bash on. can't go wrong with a Savage 25. Might be a little more than you want to spend, but its one of the toughest trucks you can find. Maybe look at used ones. The Rc10gt are xxxnt are both great trucks, but seem a little small and low for what your gonna be wanting to do. There 2wd too by the way.

(Id narrow your choices down to the Savage, or a revo)

Unless the construction site has smootha reas already groomed out for your truck to run on, a stadium truck like the RC10GT would not handle as nice as yoiu might want on that rough of terrain. Get a MT. If you cannot afford a Revo or Savage, consider the AE truck.

Ya, I say MT as well, but if you can only afford to spend $250, the xtm x-cellerator is a great ST. It's only $200, and is really a great truck. XTM makes some great stuff. It also has a good .18 in it too.

But I mainly reccomend an MT, and I reccomend the savage, revo, or MGT.

Yeah being on a construction site terrain, I'd agree w/ 4U......the revo will handle that terrain like a hot knife through butter......I recommended the RC10GT and Losi cause they were in a similar price range but better quality....Stadium trucks (like RC10gt) are great for smoothed out surfaces....they can haul ass if you set them up right....MTs (monster trucks) are just fun to beat the snot out of...if you want to learn Nitro RCs and have a very dependable truck get the savage.....I had one but just thought I had my T-maxx tweaked (hahaha) better than the savage was for handling and such....the savage is by far the toughest SOB you can buy right out of the box......

yup..stay away from it...it will cost u bookooos in the long run.

if you are looking for a pretty solid truck, not quite a monster truck, but not really a stadium truck, my brother is selling an HPI Nitro MT (not the 2, but the original). it has a Fantom FR15 engine (less than 1/3 gallon fuel, and never over 250 degrees) w/ rotostart (still has the pull start if you need it), cvd drives on all 4 wheels, 3 sets of tires (on road, masher 2k's, and stock). New era roll bar, dynamite pipe. failsafe, slipper clutch, and futabe 2 channel wheel radio. asking $250. I know I am not supposed to post for-sale items since I don't have 100 postings yet, but.... he is looking to sell, and it sounds like what you might want. also, even though the nitro mt 1st edition is discontinued, parts are still being made, per Tower Hobbies. By the way, this truck was radar clocked at 43 mph actual, just a week ago.

Wow. That sounds nice. i don't know anything about the rotostart stuff, Am I gonna need a starter box? Are we talking 250 shipped? tell ya what, so we don't break any rules send me a PM.

MAN you need to come to a bash!! you would learn so much!! we got mt's st's and buggys, so you could make your decision.. you REALLY need to come out man!! were gonna be out in full force sunday.. it is supposed to be dry and clear.. i know its a long drive but even if its just once the drive will more then pay for itself in knowledge and money saved when buying a rc..

Also, I think the HPI nitro mt is very similar to their touring cars.....PM sent.

Well, I think I might have a couple RC10's in the werkz. if I can get ahold of the deal I am working on now- you have my word I will be there.

be there when?? this sunday?? that would be the greatest time to come.. not everyone can get there every week.. this sunday seems everyone is comming.. and it not supposed to rain!! sounds like a awsome bash day.. speed test with radar gun, long jump competition, 10 + rides.. call me dude.. oh and if you want a tough truck i wouldnt recomend a st.. some are tough but they arent made for bashing a contruction area.. there made for the track.. hunt down a used savage roller and motor or maby a revo if you got deeper pockets.. but you could prolly find a decent savage for your 250ish limit..

well, A good deal reared it's head (hopefully) and I'm pretty sure it can bash. maybe i'll throw a rollbar and some new arms on er and see what happens. My bad on the date tho. Even if I COULD get next day delivery on this thing it wouldnt be here in time. Next week's a go if it's good weather.
