Well, I am 91 posts into my stay on this forum and I may just be ranting my way right into a warning or banishment. However, I can't take it anymore! I have but a small request: "PLEASE FOR THE SANITY OF EVERYONE THAT RESPECTS THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE", use the "advanced" function to post threads if you can't type or write "on the fly" very well. I am begging you. More times than not it appears to be the younger generation that is guilty of this. Being 12 to 17 years old is not an excuse to appear an idiot...It "ain't" cool....It is just sad! It is sad that you don't have enough respect for yourself, or the people you are communicating with, to take the time to present your question or statement in a clear concise manner....

I spend a decent amount of time on internet forums due to my other interests...I am a regular on many hunting and fishing boards...These are much like this forum in that there are many different types of folks that share ideas and talk shop. Without out a doubt, if there were posts like we see on this board, the individual responsible would get ripped to shreds, then ignored.

The internet in some ways, is NOT so different from the real world. In an Online Community such as this one, respect and recognition need to be earned. Yes, you will be welcomed with open arms...But how you present yourself, your ideas, and questions will really determine whether or not folks will want to talk to you or help you to the fullest extent...

If I had half the knowledge of many of these gentlemen, I would ignore half the posts on this board especially after I found out that a 15 year old spelled "School" as SKOOL.....

I am sorry for the rant, but it has just amazed me that there are young folks on this board that have the intellingence and know how to do anything they want to a complicated piece of machinery like a Revo or a Savage...yet can't, or won't, put the effort into typing a post without 4 misspelled words and no punctuation. No, this isn't English class, it doesn't have to be perfect. But at least have the respect for yourself and others and try to take some pride in what you put out there in Cyberspace........We won't even get into discussing what life will be like for you out in the real world "if" you care so little about how you are percieved....

Disclaimer: I have noticed that this is a World Wide Site-That said, If English is not your "first" language, especially if you reside in another country....Kudos for trying and doing the best you can........

Falling off my soapbox now...

LMAO

How in the world do you make a post like this and miss spell the word, "intelligence".

"I" before "E" except after "C" on, "perceived".

Just messing with ya.

I agree with your post. There are a few members on this site that are an absolute embarrassment to themselves with their posting grammar and spelling. Not sure if it's laziness or just plain stupidity.

I have to say you hit the nail right on the head man.

I believe the rules even mention this as a requirement.
So I'm with Hawk on this one.
Hawk, I'm sure you have spoken out what's on many minds here, and I'm confident you'll get some responses. Don't expect too much from the kiddos that are probably unable to read the post due to excessive ADD, ADHD, ECD, ABH or any other CRS syndrome medication.

hey, i guess this is partly about me, too...but i am getting out of my old habit with all the g2g, ttyl, stuff and i'm starting to pay more attention..sorry if i ever do it.

Firefox browser with the spell check add-on is a posters best friend. Underlines each misspelled word in red after you type it.

Rob, that would leave many posts looking like this:

___ _ ____ ___ ________ ___ _____ ___
Just let the english warriors hit this thread and it's gonna be messy!!!

Hmmmmm, After my "Self Righteous" ankle heals due to RobMob PUSHING ME OFF the soapbox, I will look into it.....

"Dood, Iwood luvto butt I am goin tobe buzy this weakend. Its kinda far 4 me az I liv about 3 and haf hours frum ther." LMAO..........

Seriously, I really would like to meet up with some of the Ohio Members this Summer/Fall. My fishing circuit is actually only going to be 12 tournaments this Season so I may be able to squeeze in a roadtrip(Schedule is pretty heavy in the springtime). I plan on heading up to my preferred hobbyshop when they start racing....I will get some pics of tracks, and see what kind of crowds they are drawing. I will then share this info with the members and you may want to make a roadtrip as well. He also allows free use of both his tracks so that is nice as well.

Alright, I wasn't sure where wintersville is. My schedule for the year is packing up fast. I'm running the 3 rounds for the Midwest division of RC Pro Series. I'm running most of the RC Pro State Series for KY and IL. The buggy Nats warmup and the buggy Nats in St Louis, the truck Nats in NC and club racing in between the big ones. Are you near Medina? I can probably round up Monkey Wrench and head out sometime, maybe Lessen too.

Awww, Gee golly. Looks like I's hafta go getta good dictionary type book, I reckon.

Hehe, couldn't resist. I'll admit, sometimes I don't use the most perfect of grammar, but at least I don't talk like I have a partially deflated cerebrum.

Altho the bad grammar is annoying, I believe that everyone deserves a second chance. After all, we all typed like a cross-eyed two year old when we first got our mitts on a keyboard.

I can be in Medina in around 2 hours or so...I spent about 14 weekends up there for earning CEU's for my job certification so I know the area a little bit. If that is one of the venues, I will do my best to make it up there....I will watch....I am not even close to being ready to roll with the "big dogs". I am going to start local, hit a few when I can, and see where it goes from there....Racing and Bashing have equal appeal to me right now....So does buying another Revo....but thats another story that you all probably know too well....

Hawk

Ill admit, I can speak decent english, But my grammar suck's the big one. Being 17 myself i will admit that people my age should at least learn how to type and use proper grammar, but hey not all of us were masterbeavis's at english, I'm ridin on a C- but I'm still learning. I think?

Monkey Wrench, think twice before bustin my chop's because i will get you back somehow.

SO AGAIN THE TEENAGERS GET THE BLAME!!!

Sorry but it always seems whenever there is a problem, or bad posts on a forum immediatley teenagers are blamed.
I am 15 and only write like that on msn as i know alot of adult's dont understand it. To be honest though i don't think you should be making threads like this (i know i will get a lot of people dis-agreeing) but we talk how we want to. It's a free country and I'm sure you probably talked like that and did stupid things when you were a teenager. I honestly can't see why it's dis-respectful. I bet half the people on here send text messages with writing like that, so why not post on forums with it?

Hey Jeff,

Congrats for sticking up for yourself. I am glad you have the guts to stand up for yourself. However, what was so hard about taking the time to type out the post that you did?.....It looks fine to me! Chances are you are probably wrong about the text message thing especially with those members in the working world...

With the exception of this thread, I always give teenagers the "benefit of the doubt"...Especially those that have chosen a hobby like this one, where some thought, responsibility and know-how is involved. Its a far cry from spending 12 hours a day in front of a TV Set or a video game. I am happy to see it.

However, while it is your right to "type" or "talk" the way you want to...It is also the "right" of each an every member on this board to "ignore" posts that are just too darn difficult to read, let alone understand....it is also their right to let you know about it....That "freedom" you are talking about goes BOTH ways!!! Anyway, I really do appreciate your mature response to this....

Take Care,

Hawk

Bud Hawg, dat iss like emparrassin fo ppl to be discreminaded againsd chust becuz thay are yong and dumpp! Shoool suckz big one (!) and tha deatscher is an aswibe! I radtherr blay tha boooom game in tefelission and shuut tha bitchas, rrright?

I've seen forums close and reopen with a minimum age restriction to get rid of these linguists, and most of all to have freedom from schoolkid lingo... but there is always the ignore button if it gets too bad.
