hey all. just posting a few pic of my gorgon to document everything. but as always opinions are always welcomed! :):thumbs-up:
I've done quite a bit (for me). this is my first real build of something hobby grade. i know its just a beginner rig, but I've gotten so much out of it now that i'm on 3s! I've got most of that wrote up in the electronics forum, so i dont need to go into too much detail about that. but its also got the rocket fan, metal front a arms from GPM and metal driveshafts from RCAWD. also have all of the plastic internal and spur gear upgraded to metal as well.
now for the tires! theyre huge tractor tires for a 1/8 car. they measure 6.5" in diameter.. compare that to the 4.75" of the originals!

so they started out white. obvioulsy.. i wanted a tan color so i tried dying them.. it did not turn out well. maybe i used too much or went too long, but it turned them a really nasty avacodo green color? gross. i did not take pictures.. i just painted them. think i turned out pretty darn well...

so I'm going to cheat and paint the shell a flat gray. i'm turning all the blue into silver. (i know.. it'll just scratch off. but thats ok. itll look cool. rule of cool. always)
but i'm also looking for a different shell. one that has fenders.
i'll be posting pics later today when the paint dries.
cheers fellas

I'm glad your enjoying the build, learning to repair and modify your rigs gives you that extra bit of satisfaction when looking at it once finished.

The wheels look great, I'm curious to see what you come up with for a body.

Wheels turned out good. They probably turned green because you didn't get the wster hot enough. Was it boiling when you dropped the wheels in?

Also, you could have dyed them red to counteract the greenish tint. Mixing colors of dyes works just like paint. If you put red on grern, it will turn brown. Toss some blue on that and it will darken more. The longer the parts sit in there, the darker they will get.

But I love that gold!
