So I've had my Aftershock for a couple months but can't get the settings right. I've tried all the factory settings for the carb but it doesn't idle right consistently and after 2 mins it dies and won't start. It also revs on and off (like it's running out of fuel almost). The primer doesn't seem to work right - isn't supposed to pressurize the fuel tank?

Any thoughts?

It sounds like you have an air leak or it's too lean. Try sealing the engine, removing the primer and sealing the hole.

This is the second post like this...I didn't run the M26ss much but break in was a breeze and it ran perfect for me when I did run it.

Smax is spot on, the fuel tanks Losi puts in have had a ton of problems with the primer, with a pair of pliers pull off the black knob that is on the top and then with a pick or needle nose reach into the tank through the fill and pull the plastic post for the primer out of the tank, last fill the now open hole in the top of the tank with JB Weld or the like. I used to wait for the primer to die now I just do that as soon as I get a new tank. Good luck

My M26SS in my aftershock leaked all over when I got it. The fuel filter also leaked. The o-ring was pinched and torn at the factory. Needless to say, the first 2 tanks for break-in were two of the worst I've ever had.

After I got home and was thoroughly disgusted with the truck (brand new mind you) I was sitting there looking at it and realised there was fuel all over the filter, leaking out the backplate of the engine, out of the carb neck and out of the LSN.

Well, after tearing it down, cleaning all surfaces with DA, smearing RTV everywhere and putting associated green slime on the LSN o-ring, the remainder of break-in and the next 3 gallons were easy as pie. I also pulled the primer and sealed it up as well.

More prone to leaking than actually priming anyway.

The M26SS isn't a real powerhouse, but it gets the job done. I sold the engine for $40 after 2 or 3 gallons and the new owner has run another couple of gallons through it in his ebayed LST nightmare. It's one of his first engines and he runs it way harder than I would... and hotter.

The fuel filter also leaked. The o-ring was pinched and torn at the factory.

I never even used the stock filter. Lucky for me I talked to a guy that already had one and he told me all of the problem areas before my truck showed up. Gennie pigs...I mean on line friends are nice to have LOL

Thanks for saving me the headaches bro!
