I have the RC18B. I have freakin snow outside and I see how much fun it would be if this thing was waterproof. Is there any way to do it with a "for sure" confidence that it won't get screwed?

IMO there is no "For Sure" way. Like Hamz says, take the precautoins you can and hope for the best. I've been lucky, did nothing special and have ran my Savage in the snow many times with no problems.
