Been a while since I’ve played around with RCs. Decided to get a 14b yesterday at the LHS (they were getting rid of them at a great deal). The last time I raced RCs was with FM frequencies for the radio. While tuning this testing this today, I am finding the steering to jitter every so often and occasionally the steering goes all the way to the left for some reason (this is after I adjusted the steering trim). Any reason why this would happen.

Also, what are some necessary upgrades needed for this? I am reading how the gears could strip.

Hi! Welcome to RCTALK.COM!👍😎😁

Have you completed the binding and calibration processes yet?
Thats where to start, followed by setting end point adjustments provided your radio has the option.

You may have stripped some teeth on your servo or servo saver too. Hopefully not tho! 🤞

No was not aware I had to calibrate it. Is “throttle calibration” what you are referring to? Will that address the odd steering issue?

Calibrated the throttle but the off steering issue still occurs. When I bring the steering to neutral, it abruptly goes to the left. The only way to straighten it is to turn the wheel to the left they neutral.

Can you watch the servo saver operate when you are turning the wheels? Can you see the servo saver? See if its binding in there and causing this.

The next thing I would do if the radio is set up correctly would be to remove the arm from the servo.

Inspect both the arm and the servo splines to see if they are stripped or damaged.

Check to be sure the steering is turning correctly without the servo. No binding? Nothing preventing smooth operation?

How does the servo behave without the steering hooked up?

A video of this issue would be helpful. 👍
