I am assuming your gunna be putting this in a truck because you have reverse. And with that being said, I dont think abs will be much help on a truck. I believe it was designed for on-road cars.

Actually, I used the ABS on my T-Maxx and Savage. I have a different radio than those listed, and it had ABS. I decided to try it out as an experiment, and never turned it off. It works by pumping the servo if you jam on the brakes. So in affect it pumps the brakes for you. If set up properly, you can still get a good skidded turn started and roll on. BUT after a few seconds of holding the brakes...it will engage the ABS.

I was thinking about using the radio for both a Savage SS and a RS4 SS

Either radio should work just fine. I wouldn't hang my decision on the ABS feature. It is a "nice to have" vice a "must have".

I use the ABS on my Mars R Radio w/ my Savage 25. It works like a champ and can definitely be used with an off-road set up.

But both are nice radio's that you have selected. If you did go w/ the Futaba radio you could check out these Hitec servo's. They are a little faster than the Airtronics and have the same torque. Plus they are relatively cheap. If these servo's are going in the RS4, the quicker response time would definitely help out.

So if you went w/ the Futaba & Hitec servo's, you would just need to find one more thing for less than a $1 to add to your shopping cart. That way you could use the $10 coupon code when you make your purchase. Hopefully you are a tower member, that way you would get $10 off and free shipping. So your total would be around $140.

Just some food for thought......:egad:

I just plan to bash around with these vehicles, no organized racing.

Is there any compelling reason why I should not just go with a cheap (screenless) 3-channel FM radio like the Hitech Aggressor 3 FM?

The Aggressor 3 is a good radio too. If the only thing you are doing is controlling two cars and simply bashing around, then it would be a good choice. The other radio's simply have more bells & whistles. Some of the extra stuff is good for fine tuning and things like that. But from what your use will be, I think the Aggressor would be fine.

You should also check out the Ko Propo Ex-11 Presto Radio. It has tons of features, more than the Futaba & Airtronics. Plus it is even cheaper than them. It comes w/ ABS, all the trims, digital screen, traction control, etc...

Here is a link to the radio:

Here is a link to where it is on sale for only $99:
