Last night it rained over 5" here (my rain gauge only goes to 5 and it was over flowing). We live in the country and have a creek that runs next to our house. It obviously caused flash flooding and when that happens, it floods the woods to the west and north of our house. I went to the garden this morning to see if the heavy rains damaged our tomato plants and damn near stepped on this:

wow that's amazing. I live in the country as well, and we usually have about 4 to 6 doe come up in the evenings with their lil ones. We don't tell our neighbors because we'll come home from work and have a deer stand on our porch lol.

I am a deer hunter also, but I like to think I'm a pretty responsible one. I had the kids come out with me to see it, they wanted to pet it so I explained that Bambi's mom wouldn't like that and she might abandon her if we touched her baby. That thing never moved, her eyes were open and she was breathing, I was afraid she was injured from the debris that was being washed out of the woods. But she made it to high ground and a couple hours later I went out and she was gone, momma came and got her.

Awsome pic! Not everyday you can just walk up on a find like that. Hunter or not, you got to admit that something that precious is a moment to be remembered and adored.

Yea and just so ya know I'm not against hunters at all. I don't do it cuz I get bored out there and it's cold, but then a lot of people don't like RC's. But at the same time, I wouldn't want someone coming in our pasture and shooting the deer that we've been putting food out for over the years. It's so great that you were smart enough to not fool with it, because as you said the mother would have probably abandoned it. Great picture by the way.

I like seeing them too. Not much on having them in the garden though.
Had to put up an electric fence. Didn't get anything out of it last year. Deer, rabbits, groundhogs. It's going a little better now. Hope to get something out of it, sure worked my butt off.

We were out with the metal detector few years ago. Good place for snakes, so the 'ol lady was beating the weeds with a stick.
She hit a little deer. Almost stepped on it before it ran. Scared the hell out of both of us.

I know they will lay still as long as they can, but it was a trip getting that close.

Oh man that is awesome! I'm a hunter but I love any type of wildlife weather I'm hunting or not...That's just beautiful!

Kudos for not touching it so mom would still take care of it!

Looks like our baby goat. Great pic. It must of been hard to resist petting it. I bet mom was watching.

Man that is awesome. Did it stay there for you? I bet it was trying to get away from the water. That is so cool. Hopefully its mother is not to far away.

I could tell by your post that you're not, I've just had some negative reactions before when I say that I am. Too many people only hear the negative stories. But it's all good.

I wanted to reach down and just scoop it up in my arms. The kids really got a kick out of seeing her laying there.

Just beautiful. It's so hard to resist sitting down and petting it, and hoping that it will remember that people are okay, but that's just not the way it is in the real world.
I'm glad everything worked out for the little one.

I kinda think it's better for wild animals to fear humans. It works out better for them and us, when we go in the wild. :)

Great picture BTW.
