Hi all i'v not been on for wile lots of broken bits had me laying them up for bit! now they are all dusted off fixed and ready to break. I'm looking at fitting big bore shocks on my Hpi trophy that i have put my 4.6 savage engine in (lots of fun):D does any body know the diameter of the stock trophy shocks? and at what diameter do they become big bore? Any advice would be most appreciated.

Can't help you on the trophy shocks. I can give you some information regarding the term "Big Bore" though.

Most companies consider any inside shock diameter that is larger than stock to be "Big Bore".

Take the Traxxas Big Bores for the T/E Maxx for example. The outside diameter of the stock plastic shocks are the same as the aluminum Big Bores. However, since the Big Bores are aluminum they are able to have a larger insider diameter without compromising strength of the shock body. So Traxxas calls them Big Bores. Lame if you ask me.

True Big Bore shocks should look like these from my Kyosho ST-RR. Stockers are on the outside.

Thanks bud that's cleared some things up! and your stock shocks look just like the trophy once, the others are the sort of look i'm going for they just look so much better. Thanks again!
