Personally, I'll probably never buy another traxxas product.

The savage is one hell of a basher. I have yet to see a revo run in person. It looks like it handles well, but that damn "traxxas" name is still all over it.

I'm with olds97 id never in my entire life buy another traxxas product, I'm just not willing to spend that money after owning a t-maxx i just dont trust their engineering. I think ill stick with HPI or other brands but no traxxas for me. I'm not hating on them just dont trust them.

Isnt the ss 4.6 a kit?
Yes its a kit, Bruce at Rush RC has them, towerhobbies also has a few in stock I think. There are some on eBay too.

what does anyone think about the savage 25? is there a bteer one. NOT A KIT. sorry, i just dont have the time to build it. and the extra dough for the radio sys.

you might want to look at the lightning stadiam pro. got a couple of ppl over here that have them and the fly. i think they sell rtr for around 550 to 600

The savage 25 is a good rig. I think there are some that come with the 4-spider mod already installed and heavier dog bones.

If it says HPI and savage on the box, you can't go wrong IMO. Short of the 2-spider stock diffs and steering setup, it's a good truck. For another $25 you can fix those two problems later.

LOL u answer my next question. If I was to get the Savage 25, what would be the first hop-up necessary to make this a BIG BASH ride?

I am for sure going to get alum. skid plates. and mid plate. Where can i get this 4-spider mod? never heard of it. what are it benefits?

I wouldn't buy front and rear aluminum skids, waste of $ IMO. The stock parts hold up really well. I would get a center one though. NewEra has the one I would buy.

The 4 spider mod makes the differentials stronger. It comes stock with 2 spider gears, but is easily (time consuming though) upgradeable to 4-spider gears.

Tower sells the spider kit: 4-Spider Kit

Tower also sells the servo saver upgrade:Savage Servo Saver Upgrade

I kinda like the Revo myself...
I seen the revo eat up a couple of savage's box stock I like both of them they are great trucks if it came down to the final one I would go with the revo parts are cheap & the support is there just like hpi

for the revo what are the hop-up's necessary? what is it's durability?

So far from what i have heard you need to get aluminum shock ends and thats it. Personally i would get all rpm and good servos and a good foc.

bruce at rushrc has the savage .25 rtr ...it already has the 4 gear mod and the upgraded steering servo .... plus if you want to get rid of the ntc3 he can probily make you a good deal on the trade in ....... he buys used rc`s
and he`s a trusted site sponser

I use 20% nitro 12% oil with everything I run. Be it a 21, 15, 18... I just use different glow plugs depending on the engine. Smaller engines like hotter, larger engines like cooler. At least that's what I've experianced.

OK i did some exploring today. I went and found Hobby Town. I wanted to see a SAVAGE and REVO. in person. I like the heavy duty feel i get from the savage. It feels very SOLID. The only thing I dont like is that it looks like evrything in within the frame. very tightly packed Hard to Work on.

the REVO has an F1 suspension setup. Ilooks very fragile. does not look like it can take a BIG HIT. well that it my decision. it looks like the SAVAGE 25 is the winner. just now.

WHERE TO BUY IT FROM.
hobbytown. $410 (in my town)
tower - $399 + shipping and others.
it is all around 400, if you know of any other RC place online that is a GOOD place to order from! Please let me know!

like i stated before rushrc has them at a good price .....also make sure where ever you buy that your getting the new batch of savage's that have the 4 gear diff mod and steering saver mod included

also i think you will be very happy with the savage ...but the revo from what i hear around here is very capible as well and not as fragle as you think
