So I'm forming that band I talked about a few weeks back. We got together tonight and had one AWESOME jam session. I wrote a really cool song that everyone was able to learn within 15 minutes, fix a few things, and complete. That was really impressive. However, we had discussed doing some 90's rock stuff.. mostly stuff people may have forgotten about. We're going for that whole "wow i remember where I was the first time I heard this" kind of thing.. I'm having a little trouble making a list of stuff for us to try out, I have Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots in mind, but there is a lot more stuff than that, we will definitely be playing "When I Come Around" By Green Day, since thats the song that paved their way on the radio, but like I said.. there's a lot more stuff.. so if anyone can think of a few, throw them out there! I would really appreciate the help!

How about Dishwalla-Counting Blue Cars, Audioslave-Like a Stone, Blind Melon-No Rain, Carlos Santana-Smooth, Concrete Blonde, Creed, Fear Factory, Foo Fighters and Garbage?

good songs to do, as much as i like fear factory i think it might be a little heavy for what we want to do.. unless we would do their version of cars

How about Nirvana,The Offspring or Soul Asylum?

Check out THIS LIST

That's a great list, i wish i would have just thought to look for that myself :hehe:

I was actually thinking of Fear Factory's Cars when I suggested them.

Mr. Big - Wild World, Pearl Jam - Even Flow, Extreme - Get the Funk Out.

I'm pretty sure Audioslave is post-90's, but "cochise" rocks and could be learned quickly. Or just play some soundgarden. Some others that come to mind are: "Sex and candy" "Remedy" Semi charmed life" "shine" "The distance". If playing Nirvana may I suggest something other than "smells like teen spirit", maybe "on a plain" instead? I would try to avoid the songs that were wickedly overplayed in favor of the other popular ones that weren't so overplayed.....just my.02 I don't know what year it was but people seem to go nuts over "she f**kin' hates me". Personally, I f**kin' hate that song, but a crowd pleaser none the less.

Ah, great minds think alike, actually i could probably pull of decent too

I just though of two more, John Cougar Mellencamp -wild night, and Spacehog- in the meantime

Great list. Brings back memories. What about some Soundgarden? And perhaps throwing in Cherub Rock by the Pumpkins. Maybe grab a part time female lead to do some 4 Non Blondes or Cranberries. Maybe some Sublime? Damn. Now I'm trying to think of all the stuff I listened to back then.

We will probably do black hole sun and rusty cage, not sure about a female sing though.. seem to be hard to come by around here

How bout some Toadies - Possum Kingdom?

And The Flys - Got You Where I Want You?
