Man that thing is sweet! Wow, you have alot of talent my friend. I can't wait to see the finished ride!

Tom

I think you should stretch the additional wheels out equal distance from the front. It just looks kind of strange to me. But cool and interesting none the less, so show more progress.

if you do a search for a dodge trex and you will see the look i'm going for which is why i'm going to get 2 hpi dodge ram bodies then cut the bed off one and stick it on the back of the other

thats cool. dont you think the wheel base in the back is a little to short? by looking at the last pic it looks like the rear tires are going to rub against each other, but i guess that also depends on what tires your going to be using.

oh yeah is this the truck you were talking about?

^thats the one
the wheels dont rub theres about half an inch between them the only problem will be if the gt tyres start ballooning in which case i will just put my deathgrips on the rear 4 and the gt's on the front 2
The gap is big enough for the rear wheels to be steerable i may have to lock the rear wheels straight when i eventually have the money to get the jumbo maxx claxdawgs with the diamond rims

You could possibly 'belt' the tires with a bit of duct tape around the foams. I haven't done it myself, but others have.

I never have tried this myself; Will you have any problems sinc you paint the insides of lexan bodies?

i'll probably spray the bodies seperately except in small areas which can be covered by decals where i will join them with some of the leftover lexan and CA glue

trying to decide on a paint scheme i'm thinking sapphire flippaint backed in gunmetal with chrome bumpers or met black with jackal hobbies skulls with some flames behind again with chrome bumpers the problem is flames don't look that good when done with a rattle can but the flip paint one would be very easy to do

Use sho goo on the inside where you join up. Otherwise the paint will be ruined with ca glue. It should look cool man.

where can i order shoo goo from any online sites and how will this not ruin the paint

I don't know how it won't, it just doesn't. CA eats the paint where shoo goo does not. Sombody will chime in about an online store, I get it locally.

are there any other uses for shoo goo i don't want to buy something to only use it once and besides i don't think you can buy it in the uk anyway unless its called something else
and i won't be gluing to the paint itself i'll be leaving small areas paintless to glue on then cover it with a decal from the outside

someone else has beat them as well wit a 6x6 maxx and vbgagnon beat you to posting that mgt, anyway the idea was to be first with a savage and mine also has 4 wheel steering
is the video posted so we members on dialup have to wait at least an hour for it to load how does it handle compared to a 4 wheel MT?
i'll have to watch it next time i'm at yours

Mega Maxx it doesn't matter if he is first or not, he just wants a cool as truck. I think he's got some balls just for trying it!

sorry about the vid, didnt realise it would take so long.

it goes round the track as quick as the standard trucks, so i supose your allright aslong as you get a high torque, high power engine.

it also looks alot more stable than the normal trucks.

are you going to hinge yours? so the back can move sorta independantly (to an extent) to the front 4 wheels? could get some small shocks to go on where the the back section attaches to the front?

just an idea:)

I never thought/heard of that idea. I say someone ought to try that, and be 'the first' to do so. ;)

i just thought, if it was fixed in position instead of hinged, if you land wrong from a jump so the back section hits the floor first, wont that put alot of stress on the joint that holds the 'new bit' on to the rest of the truck?

if you put some small shocks above the joint so that it has a bit of shock absorbtion, it will take out some of the stress on the new section of truck?

just my idea.......

it won't be hinged but i did think about trying it with a hinge on the skid plate and 2 shocks between the bulkheads but it wouldn't be that strong and i won't be jumping it extremely mainly use it for sort of fast rock crawling like hillclimbing and stuff so i put softer springs in so the center shocks can be fully compressed while the front and rear remain in contact with the ground the issue will be the added stress on the skidplate screws which are still going in to plastic

i'll be using a nosram .28 which claims to rev to 33,000rpm and have 3.81hp although i don't excpect it to have that much

i'm going to have to save some money to buy the body and wheels so it will be bodyless and running 2 different rim/tyre combos when i'm done which will be when the parts arrive (got about 14 items on backorder)
