Here is a pic of my project car a 59 Impala, I have posted a pic before but I came across one on ebay that is finished and done almost exactly they way I want mine to look when its done, except mine will be lower to the ground, air bag suspension and It will also have wider tires in the rear. I really like the torgue thrust 17 wheels but might use something differnet on mine. anyway here is a pic of my car now and the listing to what it will look like one day :). Oh yeah and my motor is the same as that one a 348 bigblock with the tri power, 3 carbs but mine is all aftermarker interior parts, cam. pistons bored 60 over, heads, should have over 450 hp :).

This make take awhile to load there are a ton of pics.

that car is VERY sweet ...but I'm a nitpicker and the hood doesn't line up on the pasenger side front sad on a otherwise beautiful car

I was gonna use the same rims on my '67 mustang! I like em... but i also like the muscle car looks with the big ass slicks in the rear with the pizza cutters in the front... thats pretty much for drag racing... I am starting to like the low-pro tires now..

lMAO I'm glad I'm not the only one who is picky when it comes to things like that, I noticed that too, its way off!!! It almost makes me think it has been wrecked before? Anyway Mine will be way nicer than that one when I win the lotto hehe.

Swweeet car but if your gonna put air bags in it, and lower it ya GOTTA have 20 inches.. NOTHING less.. Torq thrusts are cool, but really over done.. I like em, but theres ALOT of them at shows.. Id get some nice 20 inch Billet specialties on it.. but yeah, the 60 impala with the continental kit and the 69 Lincoln Continentals are 2 of my dream cars.. Very nice..

It's at 32,000 so far. I think that just about covers the Ebay listing with all those pictures and background music. LOL

looks great... projects like that are so much fun. just pace yourself. dont get ahead of yourself and try to do things right the first time... also dont get discouraged by people that say oh well ou can't do that... i ran into that alot when i was asking people stuff about how to do this and how to do that... in the end of my project they were all eating there words... so just stick in there... you'll learn ALOT along the way.

Even if I wanted to get it done right away I couldnt lol, so far It has taken 8 yrs to get the motor done, brakes and to buy some parts, I want to at least get it running in the next couple yrs, then go from there :)

I like the big wheels there cool I just dont know if thats what I want on the 59. I like the look of big fat mickey thompson tires on the back lmao. I dont know what wheels I will use, right now it has aluminum ultra,s on it that will do for now :). The rear tires on it are 12 1/2 inches wide :) looks tight!! Here is a pic of a 59 with 20,s looks pretty sweet

running airbags with big ol balogne's in the rear may cause some trouble with your launches if you have any respectable horsepower... a better rear suspension setup for big ol meats is a 4 link with some nice coilovers. look at QA1 stuff to get an idea. a 4 link with bags will cause the rear end to squat REALLY bad when you launch and create poopy 60 ft times. really poopy. just something to think about... if its gonna be a cruiser more of a racer then go for it though! also something else to consider is with bags do you want to be able to lay out? if so then you are gonna have to tub the rear fenderwells alot more with wider tires....making it a big PITA. just my .02

Hey Nathan I know what you mean about the launches, but this is a huge car and wont be extremely fast anyway, It just going to be a crusier with a little umf. As far as the rear wheel wells this car had the biggest one,s I've ever seen. It had 12 1/2 inch wide tires on it now, I measured them lol and they wont hit. My brother who weighs 250 bounced the car before and they diddnt even come close to hitting and he had the rear bumper almost touching the ground. I actually got in the wheel well once with the stock tire on it!!!! I'm probally going to run 17 or 18 on it also, the wheels on it now are 15 inch and the car wobbles on them because of the fat sidewalls, I just want to stay away from the massive 20 and bigger rims, they are cool on certain cars, and not only that with that small of a sidewall you will feel every little bump in the road.

thats cool... i would paint it flat black. get some factory steelie wheels, paint them red get some big whitewalls, leave the intereior stock. but put an indian blanket on the front seat. leave the motor and running gear all stock and dump it to the weeds... then you have a cheap respectable cruiser that is era correct

LOL that would be sweet :). Love the rat rod look. I actully was thinking of doing something like that untill I can afford to paint it the way i want to, and buying a set of cheap chrome baby moons for it. I'm going to have to do something to it because right now it Looks like hell, with the copper front clip and super faded red paint, which used to be roman red has a slight tint of orange to it Ick!!! The top and fins where white but now are faded in parts all the way to the original primer.
