We are on 12hr shifts Thur. and Fri.
Sux, but that is what they came up with so we could get Monday off.

The old dude has a 4 day weekend.

I need it. Work has been a real bitch lately.

Need to work around the house some.
Try to see the guys at the field one or two days. (still haven't worked on anything to fly)
Hope to see the grandkids. Want to take the oldest to the movies. Maybe Monday?
Maybe a cookout and burn a little nitro with my son.

What are your plans?

Your doing better than I am, I get to work on the 4th. Our building closes for three days a year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, and last year I had to work Thanksgiving and Christmas.....Now that SUX!

I have to work a double on the 3rd and my reg shift on the 5th. But I'm on vacation from the 7th to the 23rd. 17 days off! I can't wait!!!!!!

FIREWORKS!!! To bad california's regulations restrict anything that shoots, flys, or explodes... Heck, they arent even legal in my county! I go to my brother's house where they are though...

At 4:00 today I'm out for 10 days. I like taking the week off because I don't have charge the whole week to my vacation fund. I get holiday for part of it. Then I can take more later in the year. And my daughters will be here for the whole week!!!

And Digger, I'm gonna be right with you for most of it. Trimmed my Combat Wing and it's flying fine. And I just got a Ron Glass Matrix the other day that I have to put together this week. It's one of those flat Depron foamies running a small Hacker brushless system. Funny, all my planes are electric. All my cars are nitro. But plan to spend a fair amount of time on the sticks next week.

Being a Canuck, we do not celebrate the 4th of July, but believe me I will be pounding back a few for you guys. :wasted:

We have Canada day on the first of July. I am working nights........lots and lots of fun. :devious:

I worked Canada day last year, and it was my busiest night ever! Even St Pat's day was quieter. All of the hooligans and drunks seem to prefer Canada day! What better way to celebrate a national holiday than to end up in the drunk tank. :ponder2:

Well, where I live, we live by a marina so this year they(the city) is planning a long day. Starting at 6:00 am with a pancake breakfast and events all day up untill the fireworks start. Music, swimming, local idol (kinda like american idol but for locals) food, games, pretty fun for familys. The grandkids love it. And I can get some bashing in cause of the long weekend. Like I need a long weekend to bash! And we live near some big casinos, and they do there big thing every year, so we get a double showing of fireworks.

I've got work off for all of next week as well. I live in Michigan, and my family always meets at my grandparents' house way the heck up north for the fireworks, and just to visit, since we only see them twice a year. I'm glad my parents let me ride with them, because it's going to be around $350 in gas this year, just to go to and from this place (it's a whole day trip one way). It's worth it, though. Everyone is so nice up there too, people will actually use their "P"s and "TY"s :)

what's so good about 4th july?

well, my sisters birthday is on the 4th july.

but you wouldn't know that.

edit:

oh yeah, it's American independence day!

cool!

It is Independence Day isn't it? Ha, the whole time I thought I was celebrating your sister's birthday! Haha, silly me!

I lucked on the comp time. I worked last weekend so I got thursday and friday off this week, couple that with the weekend (going to the USGP!!!!) off, and then monday and tuesday it's a nice mini-vacation. Add all that to my comp time from the Euro trip, and the Euro trip itself and vacation at the end of the month for 10 days I think I may actually about 5 days this month!!! woohoo!!!

Since I just got back from vacation last week, I am going into work on Monday by choice. About half of my office is taking Monday off as well as the entire field and shop crew. Fireworks at the country club on Monday night. Tuesday I am off so it will be bbq time. May also go to fireworks on Tuesday but probably not.

We've got not one but two fireworks shows here in this county. The town I live in has 'em on the 3rd, and the next town north (10 miles away) on the 4th. Seems us rednecks like things that go boom so much, we gotta do it twice.

Yeah being where I am in Canada on the west coast I can see our fireworks here..which are horrible cause our budget sucks..And then I can head to the beach on tuesday and watch the display from Port Angeles

Well, let's see.

Sunday the 2nd our track reopens so I'm gonna go racing and hopefully show someone that the marshalling pylons are bonus point markers like Jetmech allowed me to believe (and if you think I'm ever going to let you forget that, Jet, you're sorely mistaken!) That evening, the second wave of the Mormon Mafia desends on my house, so I'll have a sister-in-law, brother-in-law (once removed) and two nieces along with my flock in the house. Time to break out the Jack!

Monday we'll probably all be at the neighborhood pool where I will hopefully be sucked into a space-time continuum and transported to Foley, MN where Andy and I will get hammered, watch "Fargo" and watch some retard lick a sparkler...fun!

Tuesday, rather than go to the July 4th parade in our little city, we'll drive 30 minutes to go to their parade. No special reason, just my wife wants to do that and, of course, she knows everything. After that, it's off to my heavy metal brother-in-laws house (he's in a band called "Prizoner" which was a big band here in Cincinnati back in the '80's http://www.myspace.com/officialprizoner he's Scott McCroby, the bass player) for some swimmin', grillin' and fireworks.

Happy 4th to everyone and don't forget our boys overseas!

Score some big points Monkey!!!! My Dad is here and will be going to the races with me saturday...he's the most mechanically deficient person I have ever known. He'll probably end up pitting for 3 or 4 of us, things could get ugly! LOL

Hey Jet, you are going to bring your dad a pair of gloves arent ya? :hehe:
J/K

It's official, the old dude is off for 4 days.
Not a lot happening here at 4am.

Need to try to get a spur gear on the Savage. Still got the mammoth and x-term to bash, but if me and the kid are going to be tossing back some cold ones, they may not last long.

If it goes up or goes boom, it's not permitted in this state. Got a few from last year, but I'm thinking of going to Bristol, TN and getting a few. It's about 1.5hr drive, but the hobby shop is on the way. Anyone here know a place there to get some good deals?"
Danny, that was me setting the lawn on fire. Sprinklers are working now though.

Everyone be safe and have a good time.

Ended up making the drive yesterday. Anything that goes up and goes boom illegal there too. At least according to an employee at a little convenient store. (guess it is by county?)

Decided we had driven that far, we were getting some if we had to go all the way to Sevierville. 6 hrs later and 50 or 60 bucks worth of gas and we were back home.
Damn what a person will do for a little bit of fireworks!

Didn't have a lot to spend. Neighbor chipped in $50 and we spent $80. Had to almost drag the 'ol lady out of the little tent. She loves them and would've spent everything we had with us. She is outside now with the little waterproof firecrackers.
Think we will have a pretty good show.

I'm going to be working at the house to try to make it livable after the tornado of construction - destruction this last week. I may try to go over to a friends house and get toasted in the evening or just sit in the front yard and watch the neighborhood activities. The neighbor is a cop in China town and never fails to have a display that is second to none.

Everyone be safe! no Jack-Ass videos with our members involved. PLEASE!
