3s lipos?

hey guys,
I would like to know what some good 3s lipos are for my slash vxl. I would like it to have 5000mah and if possible traxxas plugs already on. i really dont want to make any mods to the battery holder if i dont HAVE to.

I would highly recommend the gensacearespammers 40c or higher 5000mah batteries from hobbypartz.com for the price it would be worth changing out the connectors to traxxas ones.

is it possible for a 3s to burn out my esc/motor? i check the temps after about 5mins or so.

SPC packs are good quality packs but there are some budget packs out there that are almost as good but cheaper pricewise. In order of quality I would say look at these packs:

1) SPC
2) gensacearespammers (www.hobbypartz.com)
3) Sky (www.hobbypartz.com)
4) Zippy (www.hobbyking.com)

In terms of price for the quality you get here is the order I typically look for Lipos in.

1) gensacearespammers
2) Sky
3) Zippy
4) Even though SPC packs are better than any of the rest of these packs I have only ever bought one and it was because the other three brands were either out of stock or didnt have the exact type and size lipo I was looking for. I consider the other brands to be high enough quality for bashing and would typically only consider i higher end lipo if I was going to do serious racing.

IMO: 3 cell Lipo's are TOO MUCH for a SCT such as your Slash VXL.. I have a Losi XXX SCT & I am running a 2 Cell Lipo Dynamite Speedpack 5200 Mah 50C with traxxas plug's & a 3800 KV FUZE brushless system & my SCT Rig is very fast & performs well & my motor temps & ESC are fine & run pretty close to normal temps every time... With that said my Bashing buddy has a Slash 4x4 & he run's a 3 cell lipo in his Slash & it's very hard to control & almost every squeese of the trigger the front nose want's to wheelie... Also when his Rig is @ HI speed's it becomes very unstable "HARD TO CONTROL" @ HI speed's " Most of the time my Friend winds up crashing & fliping his rig & slamed into my Shin 3 time's already trying to bring his Rig to a stop from HI speed because the Rig slide's for a long distance...

If you are using a stock VXl same motor and what not it should be fine. Just watch for where and tear on the tranny and drive train. Control is everything, If you can't control the speed then frying your electronics may be the least of your worrys. Also higher performance usually means more wear. Not a bad thing.

My only concern is it is a low C rating at only 25c, the gensacearespammers I think would be a better bang for the buck. JMO.

As long as your electronics are rated for 3S then it should be able to handle it. However you will want to keep an eye on temps just to make sure it can handle it with your current gearing if your gearing and tires are not stock

by the way I do agree with Grave that on a track 3S is to much for a 1/10 scale SCT....you wont be able to control it very well.
