ok, I have another friend(Robert/Bob) that wants a gas car... He's thinking the 1/10 scale buggy made by cen. But he would like to know the best turck or buggy he can get for $300 or less. 1/8th or 1/10 he like buggys more because of speed.

Personally I would suggest a Sportmaxx, they are $300 bucks RTR and are very easy to upgrade to two speed and even 4 wheel drive if you decide to down the road.

For $300 I would say that is your best bet, next would be either a tmaxx or a savage but you are pushing $400 then.

Don't know anything about buggys so I can't really help you with that now but someone will come along and give you some ideas.

One suggestion I would say is if you plan to do alot of back yeard bashing on rocks and when it is rough terrain I suggest a MT over a buggy unless you have some nice flat sand area etc as they are lower to the ground and get stuck easier.

Hey tell him to go to his lhs and check on a Team Losi XXX-NT sport RTR that is what i think it a great RTR(Ready to Run). It costs about 339.99 and that is a awsome deal.n That is just my .02 And i know you said 300 or less but what the Helll. Spend an extra 40 bucks for a lot better quality

I would wait, and save a few more dollars. Then with about $400 there are alot more choices. Especialy if he doesn't have any of the other things you need with nitro like a glow plug ignighter, fuel, tire glue, extra glow plugs, batteries, ect.....

I have to agree with Hypedonrc, and say try to save some more money, to get a little better rig. You will have running costs to deal with also, fuel glo plugs igniters, and what ever you break. Cheaper usualy breaks easier. Just my :2cents: .

Actually if he's not minding what nitro to get, (if MT's are ok) tell him to watch the boards, and and Ebay.

Picked up a nearly new savage that needed to be put back together for $200. All i had to do was install the battery box and it was as good as new. I bet he can find a hopped up savage with little use, and a lot of hopups for aoround $300

Definetely get an XTM X-Terminator!! It is very fast and handels very good. Just got mine last week and so for its my favorite R/C. Right now you can get one for 319.99 at hobby people(normally 349.99, sale ends tommarow) Best nitro I've ever had!!

take a look at the hotbodies lightning RR. i think its 300$ rtr and there are option parts now to make it the lightning pro, and lightning II models. from what i hear its a nice buggy for what it costs.

like what AC48 said, get an x-terminator, or if $300 is the absolute MAX, then look at the xtm x-cellerator. $240 last time i checked, 50+ mph last time i checked, awesome engine, durable, etc.

I saw a pic of the XTM X-Terminator, and I have to say at that price it is a good buy. Does that come with a motor and/or radio? Man that would be a good buy if it does.

The XTM X-Terminator does comes with a 24.7 engine and a Hitec Lynx radio.

$300 aint no enuff fo a gas car theres nothin that cheep and buggys that I've seen are expensiver.

yep it comes with the 24.7 engine and a hitec radio

Take a look at the OFNA LX Comp. It's $299.00 plus $20.00 off at TowerHobbies. A .26 Engine, adjustable shocks and radio. By the time he buys fuel, rechargable batteries, street wheels and blah blah blah, he will have to spend at least another $100.00 to get running. If he's just starting this hobby keep him at $300.00. The snowball affect of having to buy other items to get started might just discourage him from buying anything at all. I finally got a friend of mine involved and I told him all about the hidden fees to get started and we both bought the OFNA LX Comp. Now he has extra money for street wheels, fuel, batteries and stiffer springs. Right now he has about $450.00 invested after our pitstop at the LHS today.

I saw just get him into the hobby and when he learns more, he can decide for himself. That's just my :2cents:

Scott.

buy a used car/truck from someone getting out of the hobby ,reason is they will give you everything, glo starter, fuel bottle, and whatever they needed to get their car running and also they you will get more for you money!!! like lykan said watch the forsale/trade board or /and ebay you can get some smoking deals!!!
