Pardon if I am being pedantic. I have a TRX 4 F150 High Trail that I purchased with a 4000 lipo 3s battery. Is there any benefit to using a 3s battery for rock crawling? I would think a higher capacity 2s battery would be more beneficial. I'm looking at buying a Ford Fiesta ST VXL or a Ford F-150 Raptor R 4x4 and am thinking the 3s battery would work great for one of these. Thoughts?

High capacity batteries are heavier. That should be a concern. 😉

3s fully charged is 12.6 and a 2s fully charged is 8.4v. Multiply that by your motors kv. That's basically your redline.

If your running a 2800kv motor that's 23,580 and 35,280 rpms respectively.

Trx4 is 2 speed. Some Axials like mine are single speed. Rpm can be everything in certain scenario's. My SCzx10iii is a 3s truck. I'm debating on 4s. With the 2850kv I made a 22t pinion fit and on 3s I can get 22mph. Being a trail truck it helps with the mud and being in rwd most of the time I cab go donuts. 🤣🫠🙃

I've got a lot to learn, thank you for the insight.
