The first sneak peeks at the hood work...

Most Improved: relatively straight forward on the hood

Rookie of the Year: I've always felt this one should be a bit special. I might be biting off a bit more than I can chew here so wish me luck

looks nice....tried to sign up for vrc today. No mac support.

Thanks Jeff. I need to order a big bottle of Bob Dively's and a lot of paint so I can get this train a rollin'.

Looking good.

Can't wait to see the finished products.

wow! i'm digging all the designs.
and this is definitely a nice ending to a good 1st year. can't wait for the new season to ramp up.

Yeah, I'm awaiting to see what's going on with the new version. It's not out yet so I doubt it'll be available by the end of the year.

ok... back to drawing :)

WOW i wish i had HALF the drawing skills as you do. i could turn out some killer paint jobs.
but once i stray away from decals and try do do my own stuff. it turns out like crap.

Well as always, they look great and can't wait to see the finished projects. i wish i had the extra cash to get into the VRCNT, but maybe next year it will be in the bag of stuff i need to get. i would like to get a nice body out of it for one of my trucks!

Good luck all

If somebody else was #1, they would have got a similar hood. I'd rather put the extra time in for somebody else

I got a couple more tricks up my sleeve for most of these. Of course they will also have some graphic work, but not overboard. I havn't done to many TC bodies so I'm gonna try a couple other off the wall ideas I got.

I'm with ya Gabe. I've added my TC of choice to my 'favorites' list. Maybe the wife will see it :) I just found out the ROAR carpet nationals are foing to be held 20 minutes from me in March. I've never even raced a touring car but I'd give it a go just for the heck of it.

what TC did you decide on? the new xray?
i'm bouncing back and forth all over the place. goin from the xray 007 to the cheap HPI sprint 2 drifter and stuff in the middle

I've been looking at the XraY, TC5, Kyosho and Losi and I'm liking the design if the Losi the most. The Losi is designed around the concept of centralized weight which I really like. Another thing I've noticed is that it looks like the Kyosho and TC5 offer single post steering which I'm not a fan of on a 1:10 scale. Not that I have any actual experience wit them, I just don't agree with the concept of it. The Xray and Losi have double post steering and there is a pretty big price difference between the two. Amain has the Losi for 315 and the Xray for 500. However, Stormerhobbies has the Xray for 400 I think. I can't justify buying an entry level TC because I would never bash it. A TC would be strictly a racer for me. I stick to off road for bashing.

all good points, but i dont see myself racing all that much. just some driveway runs and maybe a make shift track/drifting course at the local school.

i'm heading to the lhs shop tomorrow to see what he has in stock and more importantly touch a few to see what i like.

Looking good Josh, rookie of the year looks like it's going to be sweet.
